Labor Day Weekend is the Texas Thunder Rally in Austin on the fairgrounds (same locale as ROT). Starts on Friday and goes throughout the day Monday at midnight.  Plannin on riding down from Terrell about 3:30p on Friday and return on Monday morning.

The following weekend is the Texas Rally at Lake Somerville. Unusual rally in that most are about leather and t-shirts.  This one is Hawaiian themed.  Luau dinner (roast pork and the trimmins) for every attendee on Sat night.  Special time of rememberance on 9/11 from all the folks.  This rally is broadcast to the troops as well.  Goin down on friday and returning on Sunday (gotta stop at Sam's in Fairfield for Sunday lunch).  Met LaserPat there last year.  Good gatherin!!

Iffin you wanna ride let me know or we can meet up on site. L

Did the Texas Thunder Rally this weekend.  What a joke!  I know it was the first year for this one but OMG the promoter must have lost his @$$ on this one.  $38000 to rent the fairgrounds and another $15000 if you want the A/C and elec on in the RV sites.  Probably wasn't 500 people there, less than 20 vendors.  Lots of bands playin to crowds of 50 or less. I came home a day early and for me that is saying something!  Nothing going on during the day or at night.  ROT is was not!

Oh well, The Texas Rally is this weekend in Somerville on the lake.  That's a great gathering.  Been there several times and am looking forward to this one.  Molly Hatchet playing Sat night, free roast pork dinner for every attendee, lot's of vendors and a great party atmosphere.  Leaving Terrell at 4 Friday afternoon.  Be back Sunday mid-day.  If you wanna go let me know.
