Buddy of mine with a 99 tourer seems to have an intermittent leak on the right side up where the carbs, spring thing that rotates when you give it throttle- any help would be welcome-
Sorry for the lack of proper terminology-

The three carburetors on each side are connected to each other with a short pipe that has an O-ring on each end. Four pipes total.
Does that sound like where the leak could be happening?

The3 carbs need to removed and pipe and O ring
removed.
It can be done with some help of others if you have
not been in that area before.

Getting into that particular area of removal is fraught with potential pitfalls.
I would suggest that you friend first determine exactly from where the leak occurs.
There are also some gas line connections in the same area along with the petcock and hoses.
It would be foolhardy to start tearing into things without first having a plan of action and knowing what the problem be.

I have only had my 97 standard a year now and this is one problem that i have had. It's pretty easy to loosen the carbs and intake and slide the back carb far enuf to replace the O'rings. They sell a kit with the 4 between the carbs. Again, i have never worked on one and it wasn't too bad.
