IMO the only way to go is with Hondaline...EBC will chew the rotor in short order....I've never used the one's made from organic material and probably never will...I've had good servive from OEM and if it ain't broke don't fix it  cooldude

With OE rotors, it's OE pads, they work and they last, and they are still a relative bargain for a dealer part.  HDL.

search is your friend. been addressed many, many times in detail by me and others.

I just installed Vesrah for the front. I have noticed better braking than the OEM. And the vesrah are also avail 1 mm thicker than OEM which I installed for longer pad life.

+1 on Vesrah brakes.  I use them on all my bikes.  WAY better than OEM, but if you want to play it safe, go with OEM, you know what you are getting.

Any compatibility issues with the Hondaline rotor and the Vesrah pads and what about costs?

EBC pads growl and eat stock rotors (don't ask). I'm back to using OEM without issues.

You have to be careful of the dealers.

Some will supply you with other than OEM pads without telling you.

My dealer pushed ESB pads much to my disapointment.

It was only later on that I realized this little known fact.

there was some noise at initial breakin about 100 miles, but have been dead quiet for the past 1k miles. Vesrah makes most OEM pads. I brought mine from denniskirk. another brand to checkout are ferodo, now owned by TRW. their pads come thicker also.

OEM. You know there are going to be no problems with them.

It's not an issue of quality either. EBC, Vesrah, SBS all make great quality pads but as has already been said compatibility can be an issue.

Compatibility with the rotors is the question: and all the posts, over all the time, have never really answered the question except with supposition and conjecture.

Of course that will never truly be answered since a lot of the pad manufacturers are also in the business on manufacturing rotors and they really want to sell you new rotors. So, they're really telling you nothing helpful except that to buy theirs.

That's why I like organic pads. I may give up a little, whatever, but the rotors like them best, which makes my wallet happy.
