Apparently some were getting too personal for the administration.  Glad we have some one watching.  It would be good if we could have a discussion without things getting out of bounds.

I agree.

On the other hand ... this is the tech board ... and anyone in the know OWES to make sure that no misinformation is thrown around.

The guy asked a good question which deserves a good answer ... based on proven numbers ... not on butt dyno. These numbers exist and more than a few guys here can give the numbers but refrain because they are tired of arguing for nothing.

If I had come up with such a logic a while back, the "older" techies would have put me back in my place. Fortunately this did not happen too often... and it has permitted me to learn how to wrench, etc. a bit better than I did before that.  Smiley

Ya ever notice that some will not allow an exchange of info or opinions without making it a personal attack?
Too bad, there is a lot to learn without being side-tracked by personal chest pounding.
Good job, Willow.

I never clicked on the exhaust thread mentioned, but after a while I was surprised that it was getting so much interest, constantly being at the top of the page.  Now I know why.

The last refuge of a scoundrel in an argument is ad hominem.  If you get that, then you know they have no other arguments, you are correct, and their ego is so big that  they just refuse to admit it and so they start the insults.   Insults are a sign you won the debate.

I do not think that could be an argument.  India's King Cobra has the best sound.

I disagree, I think the AC 427 has the best sound.  Too bad it's too small.

What is an AC 427?
I guess I was to subtle with my King Cobra remark.  I was referring to the soft hiss that they make.  Right before killing you.
If I was going to add noise to mine I would get a recording of a (20mm?  25mm) chain gun and hook it up to my horn button.  Now there is a traffic stopper!

Loved the AH1G Intro, as an old Cobra pilot I got a real kick out of it.  Was an awesome machine for its time, and still could do a good job.  Ive had some real adventures in those machines.

Still DOES a good job. The AH-1 Super Cobra is still being produced and the Marines fly the crap out of them. They're going to be supplemented and replaced by the AH-1Z Viper, which is basically a Super-Duper Cobra.

In many ways the Super Cobra is a better AH than the Apache. It's not quite as deadly, but it's cheaper, easier to maintain (quick mission turnaround) and very reliable.

used to be called the "AC" (auto carrier), then the Bristol AC then eventually, the AC or Cobra by Ford with a 429. Original quality AC Cobras nowadays go for about $4 million. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Cars

When I came back from my all expense paid tour of Southeast Asia, I was offered one for about $8000. More than a years salary for me at the time.  I shoulda put it on my credit card. Dollar down and a dollar a day for the rest of my life.....!!  LOL 2funny
