I know, I know this is not a new topic.  I've been reading on here for 2 hours + now and can't make up my mind.  There are a few of you out there that recently put this tire on and I'm looking for an update, please.  Didn't plan on a tire change yet anytime soon but recent findings are forcing me to...

So, any reviews on this tire vs the General atlimax HP?  Nearly the same?  I need to either order the General and pray it gets here in time or just pick up the bridgestone tomorrow.  If there ain't a big difference then I'll get the Bridgestone to try out.

The prices are about the same so that doesn't matter. The size is the same at 205 60 R 16.  I've done the nut cage mod and don't expect the washer mod will be necessary.

Thanks again for the opinions! Wink

I've run that size Potenza for 25K miles and think it's great. Hardly any signs of wear. Conventionally balanced. Rides perfect at any speed. Running 35 PSI.

I have the G009, about 15k on it and has at least that or more left. Not sure the G009 is still available however. The 019 may be its replacement. Good tire, sticks good, had good wet weather performance(gee, wet weather in Florida?).  2funny

Been running the darkside for over 80K miles now. I've ran several difffent CT.s At this time I'm running the  G 019 and I think it is as good as any I've ran before. I try and stay with a V or Z rated tire with a wear rating of 400 or less. They may wear a little faster but stick a little better than the harder tires. JMHO and I run36-38 psi in mine.

I am using the Bridgestone Potenza, don't remember the G # on the Rocket.  I like the tread pattern on the Bridgestone and the sidewall is stiff which I also like.

I do not love my Altimax.  No experience with the Potenza.

I say get the one that's in stock.

I've run several different tires and the G019 is the best handling tire as of yet. When that one wears out the same kind will replace it.

Hey Kyle, now that you have a few miles on it what is your opinion? I'm going dark and wonder how you've fared so far on the Potenza.

Kyle, you used up that CT faster than anyone I've known Shocked Sorry I pointed out the wear. (burnouts) Grin Except maybe TrickRick, he kills a tire in one night at bikenight. You know I have the Goodyear TT and you know what I think about it. The only good thing is I can't wear it out. I will not put another one on.

I compared it to the brand new tires I have on my car and there is at least 75% left on the tire:)  Just looks weird.  Still plenty of fred till I have to consider replacing it.  I'm going to do the rear end maintenance this weekend since it's been almost 10K miles since the last one already...   cooldude

This is the one I've had real good luck with and about the same $$$$$$.

PS:   Mine is made in America and the Bridgestone is made in Japan.   Just a sie note here.
