FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A nasty debate worth waging on here!!! Glazed are the only worthwhile doughnuts... ferget choc'late an' all 'em other sissy thangs. Just dump 'em in the trash and return from the 'darkside'... Then you can remove the tin foil from yer hats 'n helmets and bask in the warm assurance you've found truth.. It'll also improve yer political perspective, too...

... ferget choc'late an' all 'em other sissy thangs. Hey, now! Chocolate improves almost everything. Real chocolate, that is, not that watered down milk chocolate stuff.
Glaze is just an easy way of consuming a handful of sugar. ???
Cake or fluffy - that's the real doughnut question.

Y'all jis don't git it... I know that glazed fluffy is the zenith of doughnut making, perfection fer sure. Mankind has labored arduously for countless generations to achieve this lofty level of pastry delicacy, so why would you ever want to demean it by suggesting otherwise? Now, since I know it is the truth, the way, the right one and there can be no other possibility because it is so obvious to me... and that you disagree with me, you therefore are wrong. There can only be three reasons for anyone to disagree with 'truth' and my point of view:
1. Ignorance. No longer a valid position, since I've informed you of what's right.
2. Inability to comprehend. If you don't see my point of view, then you might just be dumb. We have programs for folks like you, so you need to enroll in one PDQ.
3. Morally bankrupt meany. I hope this isn't the case, because I would then be forced to call you names, insult you in other ways, and try to make you feel bad so you will drop your wrong-headed views, notions and ideas and adopt mine.
If you care at all about Americanism, the virtues of motherhood, and the basic goodness of our fellowman, then stop all that nonesense spoutin' and acknowledge the rightness of my position -- the only possibility!

If you care at all about Americanism, the virtues of motherhood, and the basic goodness of our fellowman, then stop all that nonesense spoutin' and acknowledge the rightness of my position -- the only possibility! My mother made cake doughnuts bathed in chocolate. MP's grandmother made cake doughnuts. How dare you insult the integrity of the memories of these fine American women! Didn't your mama teach you to never speak ill of the dead? You, sir, are a ... Well, I can't say because of the restrictive conditions of this board and my own oath to never use such terms in mixed company, unless, of course, I disguised their true identity by inserting special characters and or numerals.
I'll have no more talk or high praise of the deplorable sugar glazed fluffy doughnut. I have it from a very reliable source that said carrier of poisonous refined sweetener and empty waistline defeating carbohydrates were introduced into our fair land by none other than the Communist Chinese in a diabolical plot to bring down Western civilization as we know it. This plot was so intricately devised that they were somehow able to inject the deteriorant into our culture years before they as Chinese had become Communist, but were in full knowledge of what they would become and what their goals at that time would be.
If you cannot or will not accept this explanation of why you should immediately abandon your devotion to fluffy glazed overpriced pastry there are only three possible reasons.
1). You are completely ignorant of your country's history.
2). You are not an American at all and thus this is not your country.
3). You are, in fact, either a Chinese Communist or pre-Communist Chinese in hopes of profiting from the destruction wrought by said pastries.
4). Your addiction to refined sugar and empty carbohydrates has rendered you unable to comprehend the most obvious facts and you have as a result become the enemy within, a zombie for the cultural combatants without.
Please do not reply to this treatise which has entirely devastated your shallow and uninformed assertions as I will not read your reply and I will only rebut your reply if it involves egregious denigration of my person at which I feel irresistibly compelled to o0ffer my antiphon in kind.

Been into the 'Fruit Loops' again, I see... You need to click those ruby red slippers of yours and return to Kansas ASAP! If you keep fillin' yer headbone with crapola like that, soon you'll actually start to believe it yerself.
Ever see anybody eatin' glazed flufies with chop sticks? Oh no, no no, buster, you haven't!!! See? Now them other ones, yeah, think about it... Nope, no chopsticks there either, but wouldn't it be a great way for them Muslims to drive a wedge between us Americans? Yep, I believe it's a ploy by them to divide and conquer us from within... Wise up, amigo... yer playin' right into their hands...
Be advised... I am an ardent keyboard komando, and I will attack anything posted that doesn't agree with my point of view... ona counta it is just plain wrong if I don't agree with it, and tolerance of peoples' views demands I make everybody have the correct view so they can be tolerated... You need to stop doin' whatcher doin' and start settin' a good example for the next generation... and that, my naive friend, means seein' thangs my way...

... them Muslims ... Now you've done it! (I forgot. Did you already done it before?) You've gone and brought religion into this antagonistic intercourse.
I will not stand, nor sit, idly by while you or anyone demeans the free practice of all peace loving religions in this great land of ours. This grate country was founded on the principle that all men are equally created and entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of whatever peaceful religion they so choose. You might take note that at no place in either the Declaration of Reduced Dependence or the Constitution itself is there any mention of the freedom to glaze.
The lesson to be learned here is that not all freedoms are protected under our legal system, but those which are must be fully protected or they're not protected at all.
I am finished with this discussion unless, of course, I discern an opportunity to show someone up for the fool that he is. (I did not speak in the second person singular because that would obviously be a personal attack, but I believe I've sufficiently disguised my true intent as to either bamboozle the moderators or to give myself reasonably plausible deniability.)
Once again, I'm done barring any heretofore unanticipated fortuitous vicissitude in the balance or lack of balance extant.

Jis goes to show she ain't readin' yer stuff -- HA! HA! Otherwise, she'd know better'n to allege you might be a gennelman. And anuther thang, I did NOT inject religion into this discourse (not intercourse, by the way... you ain't my type)... Nosiree... YOU DID!!!
Yep, you mentioned those Chinese Commies and pre-commies, and they are athiests and all, and as a previous post already pointed out, athieism is itself a religion. Hmmmmm, wonder what they use for icons and such? Voids? A religious person might observe that all that voidiness would account for them seemin' to be full of $hit... but I digress...
I ain't assaultin' the constitution... indeed, I would argue I'm taking the high ground here and promotin' the pursuit of happiness... so long as it's the right happiness. The founding fathers had no intention of establishing a bastardization of the purest delight of all... the glazed fluffy. Nope I read in the Federalist Papers someplace that glazed fluffies, NOT religion, should be state supported. So there!!!

The founding fathers had no intention of establishing a bastardization of the purest delight of all... the glazed fluffy. Nope I read in the Federalist Papers someplace that glazed fluffies, NOT religion, should be state supported. So there!! Well, you must be getting your copy of the Constitution from the wrong news source. I toured the Constitution on my foray into Boston and I can assure you there is no fluff in the U.S.S. Constitution anywhere. As a matter of fact, and it is a fact, all well studied constitutional experts are very aware that our (U.S. of A.) own experiment with freedom was modeled after the revolution of our allies, the French. I recall clearly that one of the mothers at the very launching of the French revolution clearly declared, "Let them eat cake." Our four fathers in intent, if not in specific rhetoric, followed that well known French model.
As to the religion of the Chinese Communists, I will have to acknowledge that all real Americans recognize that the term communist includes both religious and political components. From my context it was quite clear that I referred exclusively to the political component of the Chinese Communists whereas your inclusion was an obvious attempt to disparage the religious convictions of not only American Muslims, but of people of religious faith all over the known world. Anyone, but the most ignorant and uninformed imbecile could easily see that. That's a fact. I'm sure you must be smarter than that. (Now that's dancing at the edge, isn't it?)
Let it be known to all that I have never started a disparaging religious post, but once religious disparagence has been introduced into a thread I will answer all the disparaging with bigger and better disparages.
Let this be the end of all this hoopla over the ridiculous notion that fluffy glazed pasties are in any way superior to traditional American cake doughnuts as prepared by my own blessed, now departed, mother and M.P.'s wonderful grandmother. That is unless, of course, I don't get the last word. Under those circumstances I would have no other option but to continue this meaningless diatribe.

As a moderator of this board, I seriously considered deleting this entire thread! Your thinly veiled personal attacks have not gone unnoticed. In addition, you've insulted several religions, countries, and at least one person's wife. And, then, to have the unmitigated audacity to denigrate milk chocolate... what the heck are you thinking??
We've asked that our members try to self-moderate, perhaps that concept escapes you. Please try to refrain from this unpleasantness in the future. This policing gets tiresome.

A real pleasure for me too, Willow... Hmmmm... maybe intercourse was in some perverse way an appropriate choice of words after all... Anyway, it was good for me, and I'm glad to see it was for you, as well... I can now see how some of our intellectuals and political experts here on our board get off on posting such nasty stuff... I just hope they haven't created a monster in me now!!!

P.S. I can only imagine what a laborious and wearisome task monitoring this board must be! While we'll never be able to see everything eye to eye, I do think that overall you do a great job, and I support your efforts. Thanks, my good friend... I appreciate ya and all you do for us.

I'm surprised ADVIL hasn't weighed in on this post and enlightend you all to the fact that Bush is responsible for the the whole Chi-Comm conspiricy that is driving this country and club apart.
Can't we all just get along?

I really enjoyed this thread. Many moons ago, back on the old Texas Cruisers Board, we had a BS (Brain Superior) board. It was a place for those of us with higher mental functions to engage in intellectual intercourse. One of the cardinal rules was to never say something in three words if you could use six. Or better yet nine. And the more pompous and extravagant your claims, the better. It was a lot of fun.

Oss Always fun to read DDT's musings and writings especially if there is some intentional manipulations of the english language (like my heroes Yogi Berra and Casey Stengel) and Carls attempts to come off as Ward Cleaver disciplining the Beav

I just stumbled upon this delightful discourse (or intercourse, I'm not sure) and I thought some might enjoy a trip down memory lane.
