Does anyone have any experience with the "Fire Hose Jeans" from Duluth Trading Co?

When I ride, I wear a helmet, protective jacket, gloves, and boots. But for pants, I rely on good ol denim jeans. I know, I know, not the best thing, but that's how I roll.

I regularly receive a catalog from Duluth Trading Co. even though I have never purchased from them.

They have some jeans called "Fire Hose 5-pocket jeans" which are supposed to be made from a real tough material. Actually, they feature a lot of work type clothing made from the Fire Hose material.

I'm thinking about "pulling the trigger" and trying a pair but thought I'd run this past you guys to see if anyone has tried these jeans or has any experience in general with DTC. Anyone?

I've gotten some of those firehose jeans... wore them to Texas this year... they are good jeans,
and very thick... I haven't slid down the road in them  Wink so I don't really know if they
hold up to abrasion, but they probably hold up pretty well...

I've gotten several kinds of "thick jeans" to ride in, and like draggin-jeans the best, but I
don't know how any of them work in the pinch...

Duluth is a good company to work with, I got good service on a return, and those long-tail
tee shirts are great!

These suspenders are excellent. I use them with my cold weather over pants.

I wear their Firehose Work Pants, to work in.  Love them.  http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/duluth-ingenuity/fire-hose-clothes-apparel/92204.aspx

I also wear their Longtail T's.  Nothing I hate worse than a shirt that won't stay tucked in.  http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/clothes-workwear/mens/mens-shirts/76020.aspx

I'm a big fan of Duluth Trading in general.  I signed up for their email specials and usually buy when they have a good sale going(if I need something).

cant vouch for the firehose stuff but mike I have slid in draggin jeans  well actually bounced and slid somewhere around 45-50 mpg down a highway in Connecticut  (on metzler tires, not their fault it was oil on the road just over a rise)

The draggin jeans armor did its thing no damage to my knees no road rash  zero  rode the bike home from more than an hour away  Valkyrie was totalled but totally rideable
The jeans did rip a little in the knee but no damage to the kevlar
Still have the jeans and wear em occasionally  The accident was in 2003

I have since bought a black pair and a blue jean pair of the jeans  They must work as I havent gone down wearing them since.

I too have purchased products from Duluth Trading Co. The products I have purchased have been good products. I have a couple of firehose fleece lined shirts, way to much material with both layers for a shirt, use them as a jacket. Have their lunch box heavier and bulkier than I need for a daily lunch box, but works well for an over niter. Both items are overkill in design and quality. I would bet the fire hose jeans are made with the same quality. How they handle asphalt? I'll let someone else be the judge..

I have bought a LOT of stuff from Duluth Trading. It has all been fine. Easy return policy too. I've never tested the firehose jeans on the asphalt, but that material has held up very well for everything I've used it for. cooldude

DULUTH is a super company to buy clothes from.  Especially work clothes.  I have their regular jeans which I wear regularly.  The shirts, all kinds, are great and recently I tried the "buck naked" boxer briefs (no binding there!).  You pay a little more but get a lot more.

I don't have any experience with Duluth Trading, but I was shopping for American Made jeans yesterday and found http://americanmadeyes.com/mensjeans.html.  (They have lots of other stuff here http://americanmadeyes.com/)

I was impressed with the Defender motorcycle jeans from Diamond Gusset (in Bon Aqua, TN since 1987).  Available in Blue and Black, they have "flexible woven Kevlar in the seat, hips, and knees, and our trademark gusset in the crotch. Plus, there are Velcro closures at the ankle and extra pockets."  http://www.gussetclothing.com/dmk.html  (They make other stuff, too http://www.gussetclothing.com/)

Duluth's underwear are the most comfortable I have worn in 50 years.  I buy a lot of clothes from them.  Only beef I have is shipping is a lot.  But, once you make a purchase they send promotional emails just about weekly offering discounts or free shipping.

I wear dbl knee carharts or regular jeans and motoport ultra II cordura pants.

firehose pants are the same material and a little thicker than the carharts and tend to be a little bit warmer than the carharts.  There are some reviews out there comparing both.
