Got a set of Kury Iso-vibe grips the little black rubber things are making everything that touches them black.  Is there a way to remove the excess blackness that is leaking out.  Or just change the grips?  Also if change grips good way to get them off??

Thanks in advance

I'm thinking that whatever you used for grip glue might have reacted badly with the rubber.

Not true regarding the Glue.
I have the very same problem, the palm of my hads get dirty fromo the grips after a day or 2 of  not washing the bike.
After washing the bike all is well.  My thought is that the detergent used to was might be aiding in creating the grips to be a bit more tacky.  With the wind blowing the dust then clings to the grips and eventually ends up getting the grips dirty.
A pair of fingerless glives resolves this problem or I some times washt the grips with just wetting a towel.
I give it a PITA factor of about 7.

Just my opionion.

But dirty or rubber black?

I mean I have no idea. Could be the type of rubber they use reacting with acid in sweat or something else, I just suggested the glue because it's another chemical that comes into contact with the rubber.

I had a set for over a year and they never stopped doing this. When the chrome started peeling, that was the last straw. I got rid of them and will never buy a Kury product again.

Try giving them a good scrubbing with Armor-all.

I had a set that did that and the only solution was to replace them.  Something is causing the rubber inserts to oxidize.

Ive had Kury flame gripes for two yers now.....never a mark from the grips on my hands.

Heres a thought....if you use moly grease on the pivots for the handles, it will oooz out to your hands and turn them black...........

Chris, I have the same grips you have on the Tourer, my gloves turned black the first time I rode with them. After a year they are better now.

fudgie, I don't know about that Armor-all, it's kind of slippery.

Same here, I love the grips but I never ride without gloves. I just went out and rubbed my hands on my grips..no black, yet.

That is kinda weird... I've had ISOs on all my bikes with no transfer of black ever... Bad batch of rubber from Kuryakyn maybe???

Yes but wears off fast. Just need enough to get the black off. Wont cause you not to loose grip since your not 'hanging on'.

Definatly a rubber not dirt problem.  Have two other bikes with the Iso grips no problems from them.  Will give the armoe all a shot.  How about removal tips, will be a new experience if ti comes to that?
