On my journey to Utah and my left front fork seal is leaking. Anybody know of a place that can install a new one on a Saturday? Going to be able to puck up a new seal at a Honda dealership but they can't put it in today!!! I'll be in little rock area tonight and would appreciate any help finding a place to put the new seal on... Thanks in advance!

How bad is it leaking and how many miles to home?
A leaking seal isn't going to harm anything except get oil all over the bike.
I've got a front seal on the Chevy that has been leaking for almost 2 years.
I replace it and the 1st wheelie I pull with it and it is leaking again.
So for now, I have a rag tied around it to catch the excess oil till I decide to tear it apart and fix it again. Which will probably be this winter.

Yep, the leak probably looks a lot worse than it really is.. If you can find something very thin and flexible [like a strip of film] you could slid it around and see if that helps..

I rode from Bellaire, Mi back to Tampa with one leaking, even took a 400 mile detour through the Smokies. fairly large leak, every time I stopped, the right side had oil sprayed on it. Got home it still had enough oil to leave a puddle on the floor. Just ride it until you can find some one to replace it without loosing a day.

Bandanas are made for more than lookin' like a pirate you know!! Had a purdy red & black one that never saw my head but did a fine job of absorbing fork oil for several weeks. Grab you a pack at the next Wallyworld you see & keep on ridin'.

I have about 4000 miles on a leaking fork seal an still riding.I will fix it this winter. You should have no problem .Just take a paper towel an wrap it around the bottom of the slider an run some electrical tape around that to keep it it place until you get home.A small leak isn't going to hurt any thing. Now a big leak is something else.

Depending on how bad the leak is, it could compromise the brake on that side. Stop at a parts store or Wally world and get a couple of cans of brake cleaner and a roll of paper shop towels. A couple of times a day clean the oil off with the brake cleaner.

Sorry for the delay, been on the road! Honda dealership in Birmingham was able to fit it in and replace the seal!!! Pitiful thing is that I just had both forks rebuilt 2 weeks ago today. Dumb a** who did it at the shop put a seal in backwards somehow...... I'll be visiting said shop when I get back home in 2 weeks.
Thank you all for the help, next time I'll know what to do!

Kyle, You've tackeled every Valkyrie related maintenance issue in your short span of Valkyrie ownership. You should be trouble free for many years to come. Seems to me incorrect installation of fork seals is a common dealer mistake and one they don't admit to, even with the evidence staring them in the face. Forget about it and enjoy your ride Been trying to call you, can't you multi-task? Tried again early this morning, I'll try you again tonight. Hey, how are you liking your new _ _ _ tire?
