My good friend, Joe Bears, was killed as he rode his motorcycle to work the day before yesterday. Rt. 287 In Metuchen,NJ was having some road work done. At 5:30 A.M., one of the road crew driving a truck, pulled out from the median into the highway in front of Joe.....he didn't have a chance. Joe was the President of our C.M.A. (Christian Motorcyclist Association) Chapter.....trying to cope as we prepare for his services on Tuesday......He leaves his wife Sarah. Prayers appreciated.....please be careful out there....
Mark

Mark , deepest sympathies & prayers to you & Joe wife & family. So sad to hear. I personally hate 287, never rode my Valk on it, but usually dangerous enough in a cage. We will remember Joe & his family in prayer.

sorry to hear that Mark Its a terrible loss
once I hit Jersey on the way home from anywhere it seems altho the speed limit goes down the drivers are faster and more aggresive.
I tend to stay in the middle lane on those 3 lane highways because you never know when a cop will fly out of the uturn spots every mile Now I will pay extra attention for highway workers as well
Prayer for Joe has been sent

Oh no... it seems that these tragedies are happening way too often. Every one of them is one too many! I can't begin to imagine the pain and sorrow that this family is going through. It must cut like a knife! Mark; I get the sense that you are playing a very pivotal role for Joe's family. There are no heroes in the midst of such pain... but if it was me, and my family was in those circumstances, I'd sure be thankful that you are there fostering good-will and been a friend, when true friendship really counts. I also like to praise the good thoughts and best wishes expressed by others. It is truly moving. I, once again offer this poem in memory of all that are gone AND TO the ones that have suffered a loss of a loved one. THE DASH (By Linda Ellis)
I read of a man who stood to speak at his mother’s funeral.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth; then spoke of the second date with tears.
But he said what mattered most of all … was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own... the bikes, the cars, the house, the cash …
What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard. Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left, that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real;
And always try to understand the way other people feel;
And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more;
And love the people in our lives like we've never loved before…..
If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile;
Remembering that this special dash might only last a little while…
So, when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash:
Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?

Prayers from Maryland. Such a strange thing, they always tell us to look out for the road workers. His faith will keep his soul strong, and help those he left behind. Shortleg[Dave]
