Trader Joe's own brand at $2.99 is quite a cheeky little number.

How much is the Wal=Mart and is it any good?

Sangria, the cheaper the better!

A few years back a friend and I decided to try all of the bum wines. Turned out Wild Irish Rose was the favorite by a mile, but imparts a nasty hangover.

Do they have Mad Dog 20/20 too? Man with free camping in their parking lot, and budget priced Mad Dog (or Thunderbird), one could live like a King really cheap...

Do ya think it could be put in a budget priced IV drip?

How is their Sterno priced?

A few years ago, my wife and I were taking a little R&R on Long Boat Key adjacent to Sarasota, FL. In a little grocery store I found some unique wine labeled; Cheap Red Wine and Cheap White Wine. So, just for giggles I bought one of each...for medicinal purposes. Much to my surprise, it wasn't half bad....it was ALL bad. Haven't done any major research before or since, wine goes bad at our house before it ever gets consumed once opened.  crazy2

A long time ago, while I was in Uncle Sam's Air Force, we made quite a study of cheap wines. We would study the prices at the PX, and then buy the cheapest one. Cheesy

Some favorites I remember were (in no particular order): Virginia Dare, Silver Satin, Thunderbird (twice as nice at half the price), Annie's Apple Wine, Boone's Farm, and of course Mad Dog. Ther were other's, but the mind is a bit fuzzy about those times. Embarrassed

Key thing was to sit in the middle of the back seat, (hopefully with a female friend on either side). That way, I was sure to get a double hit of the bottle as it was passed back and forth. cooldude

As was said earlier though, some of these "delicacies" did give one a terrible head ache the next day. crazy2

Switching to more recent experiences, the "Two Buck Chuck" that is sold at Trader Joe's, is actually not bad wine for the price.

Beautiful there John.  I had a condo on Holmes Beach just north of there for a number of years.  Great Gulf Coast, warm water and nice beaches.

As to the ETOH, I try to only drink what I can see through, gin, vodka and water.  Feel much better the next day.  laugh laugh  Oh i guess a little translucent ice is OK with the drinks.

"cheap wine"- many memories
when I was a "yoot", as cousin Vinnie would say, Pagan Pink Ripple was the wine of choice for entertaining ladies. Especially if my goals with them were less than scrupulous.
There is no worse experience than a wine hangover.
Those days are long gone but the memories still bring a smile.

Normally I agree but gin, even though fairly clear, has a lot of impurities and some of it gives me a nasty hangover. It's great in Newman's lemonade though.

Everclear, FTW!!!

donaldcc,

You are right.
It is only two bucks, but it tastes like it should cost three bucks.

And it is not made in China! WAHOO!!!

If you move quick, on Tuesdays you can be the first to grab an empty box at the dumpster!  Find that half-eaten dagwood, some Ripple with a couple inches left, and life couldn't be finer - your very own man cave, good swill and chow, a sweet-smellin squeeze to enjoy it with (if you move quick) - man, ain't life grand!  I just love the finer things and Walmart's got it all!

Once when I was in the Navy a friend and I drank 18 bottles of Booms Farm Wild Mountain. We started at 10am when the package store on base opened and it ended about 12 hrs later with my 72 Nova rolled and totalled. By the grace of God no body was injured and the only damage that was done was to my duece. I don't think I've every drank wild mountain again.
