The Landmass Between Mobile And New Orleans

« on: April 28, 2009, 09:56:07 AM »

Has anyone used one?  How was it?  I have to find a way to be more comfortable on the bike during long trips.  As much as I've heard about how good Ultimate and Day Long Seats are; financially, it's not in the picture at this point.  Maybe next year.  As always, any advice is appreciated.

YES I have one, best $15.00 I ever spent. I suffer from some back problems, and the famous "sore butt". I tried the gel pad with fake sheep skin and found no comfort after riding a few hundred miles. Bought the beads and I have been able to ride longer with out having any problems. I also have the Big Boy seat, and the combination of both have been great.

I guess I should add that my Valk came with a Mustang on her.  Used to not have a problem with it but I lost 50lbs.

Had one on my ST1300 when I rode it to  Colorado, Montana, Alberta, et. al. last summer (5308.1 miles), and long days  (750+) were easy with it.  Good folks to do business with--best $36 you'll spend....

I've used a bead seat cover for over 100,000 miles. cooldude

This guy, Spencer, has a great reputation for modifying seats.

I've got the woollies. Kits arse was sore in 07 so I bought 1 at Sturgis. Jeez we only did 1200 miles in 2 days.  Undecided She liked it so well 2 days later I bought the match. He even had some already made for the Valk!  Shocked I was skeptical but after a few hundred miles in 100 deg heat, my butt was dry. Wool traps air which keeps you dry, inturns keeps your butt from getting sore. No more monkey butt!  2funny Even great when its cold out. Keeps me warm. I'm a believer. $75 for the pair. Misty mountain wool from Branson MO or close to it. They will even make you one for the backrest. Gonna get one for it this year.

Hey Cap, where did you get your butt bead seat cover at? I'm wanting to try one as well.
