Ah, I see Austin went ahead and legalized cannabis...

Wish we could send you some of our rain.

Multiple days of straight rain from Irene, and the same thing a week later (without the wind).  At present, I believe I could float a canoe in my back yard.  Sump working full time.

Tragic event.... 100's of folks have lost their homes.... 1000's of acres burned.... livelyhoods lost.....
I fail to see the humor...

Sorry hotglue, I acknowledge that it's a terrible event, I too have friends that have lost their homes, but that's the definition of gallows humor, trying to make light of a bad situation...  I didn't mean to detract from the seriousness of the situation. Beyond homes lost, several people have also lost their lives in this tragic event.

Well when you put it like that...  Embarrassed

Seriously though, I hadn't even heard about this. I thought the pic was of a sandstorm.

OMG...that is incredible!!  Helps one to realize the scope of the situation!  We have only heard about it on the TV for the past week or so, but to see this, kind of brings it to a reality.  Prayers for Texas....between this and no rain you guys are in a bad way!!

Saw it on my way home from Hot Glues and FB's. Had to detour as they had Hwy 71 closed. Not a cloud in the sky  and didn't see the sun for 20 miles due to smoke. A huge disaster.Btw several fires are burning but the winds have calmed and the firefighters have some containment. Over 500 homes have been lost or damaged. 4 fatalities so far. plus hundreds of farm animals and pets. Sad  Cry

Attached is a write up of the fires.   Since the drought began last November, 3.6 million acres have burned and 1000 homes.  Texas is almost ALL private land.  Very little State or Federal land.  ....So any land burned is someone's home or property.

We need a bucket brigade from the Northeast!
