I recently joined VRCC for the second time last month. I joined many years ago when I had my first Valkyrie Tourer. My handle then was Malibu. My handle now is indybobm. My questions are in relation to the opening screen @ http://www.valkyrieriders.com/ In the upper left corner are selections such as:

Update my info
Password Help
Member Search

I guess these pertain to the old website and are not used in the present website?

thanks

Werlcome back.

It seems you're mistaking the message board for a "new website".

The VRCC homepage is still the entry website page for the VRCC and you'll notice it has links to the message boards.

Years ago there was no registration required for the message boards.  That resulted in a lot of spam and a lot of effort removing said spam.  The current message boards require registration to post but are open to be read by anyone.

There are items on the VRCC website that use your VRCC member information, but the message boards don't use that database.  Your VRCC membership is still quite valid.

Here's my stock explanation:

VRCC membership and registration for the message boards are separate items.  In March 2009 we went to a new message board format that requires registration to the boards to post.  You will be able to read the boards as Guest, but will need to register and be activated before you can post to the message boards.

Please read this entry: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,759.0.html for a more thorough explanation.

Thanks for the help. I found my original member number from about 10 years ago.
Looks like I am still an active member of VRCC from my first sign-up. I changed my first handle to what it is now on the message board. I understand the need to register for the new message board, did that last month. For people that are registered for the new message board only, what are the perks for actually joining VRCC?

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

you will also find yourself wanting to do your own work. you will also have a stronger burning desire to put a car tire on thye back. trust me, Yoda is not listening. for a new member of a few years now, i can honestly say that this board will save you thousands of dollars in reapir cost. the part that they take at the dealer. you will also find some locals that just want to get out and ride. there are people on this board that will offer help, sometimes give you what you need and call you friend. somtimes you get the opportunity to just pass by a post if your not interested in it. that way you dont get honked off because someone else has a different opinion than you do. thats just how God made us, different. you will get the opportunity to drule, over someone elses chrome. but, you will get to ride on the best motorcycle ever built and ride with some of the best people ever born.
just my quick synopsis.
ride safe. cooldude
