Just ordered a new right side, side cover from Direct Line Parts for $169.36 including shipping. That's with the labor day discount that ends in the morning. The front tab broke on mine last Saturday.

That seems like a pretty good price to me. I'll bet more has been paid for used ones on "E" bay a time or two. Hopefully the new one will last 14 years just as the original cover did. Smiley

Why didn't you just fix your old one?

Very easy to glue a staple onto the cover.

MGM has a loop broke off of both side covers.

1 I velcroed, the other I glued a staple on it.

$169.36 including shipping for a 5 ounce piece of bent plastic? Who do they think we are, the military?!?

$5 for plaster of paris to make a mold, $10 for fiberglass and resin, maybe $35 for paint and clear coat, $5 shop supplies. Done.

It had many cracks in it already across the outside painted surface which were already repaired from the back but still caught wax on the front. The other one does too so I'll replace it with new eventually too.

Fred, If you start makin' those new ones your talking about I'll bet you can sell a boat load. With my home remodeling uncompleted, keeping every machine in a medium size factory running and deer season approaching I'd would have paid twice that rather trying to find time to build one.

Fred, we've got to talk!!  i've been wanting to make a "box" for a single wheel trailer for the last two years and i don't have a clue on how to do the fiber glass thing!!  i want to make it big enough to carry a set of golf clubs, but look sorta like the shape of the saddle bags.  eventually i want to get rid of the trunk (not permenantly) then use the single wheel trailer for golfing and trips.
