Me and my good lady took a trip on the Valk to France,we managed just over 2700 miles. We rode up to the D-Day landing beach at Arromanches, this was the beach that my Father went ashore on D-Day.I was very disappointed in the fact that the whole area was very over commercialised.Everything was very very expensive and it just seemed that there was too many people making huge profits through something that really shouldn't have happened, with very little respect to those that had fallen. In the photo you can still see the old Mullberry Harbour out at sea. We spent 3 days in the Normandy area before riding south to the Loire Valley, there's some big critters there.I found this little monster sunbathing on my rear tire. Amazing what you can pack on a Valk. This is my new tent from Germany,Very large and very cozy. After 3 days in the Loire Valley we rode down to the bottom of the Midi-Pyranese,we had 5 great days there. Our campsite was not far from this village. This is the Millau Viaduct,it's the highest traffic carrying bridge in the world. If you built the Eiffel Tower next to it and stood on the tip,you would still be looking up at the bridge. This picture is overlooking the town of Millau,in the top left you can see the bridge in the distance.Amazing. A picture of the Valk in one of the Gorges, what a stunning place to visit. Some parts of the road had nothing on the edge apart from a 300ft drop to the bottom, scary. Another place we stumbled across, had to stop for food and drink The last couple of days we spent travelling back to Calais to catch the ferry back to England. This is one well loaded Valk as we prepared to leave the campsite in the Midi-Pyanese. Thanks for the ride report. It looks like your trailer has a tank on the front right corner, is this aux. fuel or for other camping needs? Thanks

Thanks for the ride report. It looks like your trailer has a tank on the front right corner, is this aux. fuel or for other camping needs? Thanks I have 2 five litre tanks under the trailer, one is for fresh water, one for waste. The long channel under the trailer is for the tent poles, the tent itself is in the bag on my rack.I done it like it so that if we ever get to a campsite and it's raining,I can put the tent up without opening the trailer. The trailer goes inside the tent,so it can be unpacked and everything is still dry. We had to erect the tent in a thunderstorm in France, that was interesting to say the least. Many Thanks for all your kind comments. We're already planning next year, maybe going through the Alps. i was watching a documentary about the building of this bridge, they actually built the bridge at one end, rolled it out to the "end", then extended the bridge out over the gorge hanging from the suspention cabless. really a cool way of doing it!

Beautiful! Do you know steveb from Bristol? He and his lovely wife Glynis did 10 weeks around Europe and had a similar tent and trailer. I met thiem when they were camping at Andy and Bene's "beach" in Berlin. Great folks. Good ride report, thanks. from Werner's memorial - steveB and Glynis (2nd and 4th face from left)
