I was on the phone with Russell.  They told me their seating height is about the same as stock, but the reach would be higher because of the width.  I dont mind the reach higher, just dont want to sit up higher.  Pics of your Russell on a Standard?  Anyone with a Russell going to Delmarva so I can check it out?

Your comment doesn't make any sense to me. Did you fill out the on-line seat ordering guide with the pictures of you sitting on the bike? Did you tell them about the issues your having with the current seat? They will build you a seat however you want it!

BTW nice ride.

Here's my DayLong on my Std.  As Mario said, they can be wide. Depends on the width of your a$$.  2funny  They make the seat based on your weight, height, inseam etc.  The pic TJ mentioned is of you on the bike with legs on ground, and then another with you on bike in normal riding position.  They'll make it where you sit in the best (in their opinion) position based on your measurements.  You won't find anyone with a Russell who doesn't like it I think.  No point in having a sleek bike you can't ride for lack of comfort In My Prejudiced Opinion  Roll Eyes

haha!  agreed, bobby about the comfort part.  but rude dog's not sportin' a wide hind end like myself, so i was thinking he could get away with something a bit more, well, attractive.     tho your seat looks very, very nice on your ride.

I really love how you did your seat.  It looks great and damn does it look comfortable.  How big are you?  Im just over 5'9" and 170 so I guess depending on ass size the seat will be slimmer or wider.

Glad you like the seat   cooldude   I'm 6' and weigh too much.  My height/weight ratio says my inseam should be about 48"  2funny  They'll make the seat to fit your butt, regardless of how wide it may or may not be  Roll Eyes  Not all DayLong seats look identical, but are similar for our bikes.  I'm sure you've checked out the gallery on the DayLong web site of Valkyrie seats .  Good luck with your choice.

you really arent any higher but because of the "wings" which your thighs rest on there is zero pressure on your sit bone each seat is custom made on your seat pan

I have heard many times people say the russell is butt ugly, it dont look that way to me though

With the seat I can ride 12 plus hour days all day every day with no issues, soreness or monkey butt or back pain, the mick o pegs and highway pegs also help and I do have the backrest also

GearJammer that was a great explanation
