I don't live far from Gatlinburg but avoid it like the plague....The group I ride with will probably hook-up saturday for a ride if interested let me know. I know every road worth ridin in east Tennessee and Western North Carolina. You picked a great weekend the weather is looking beautiful with much cooler temps.

Try the Roaring Fork Motor Trail .

It is free and magnificent.

Cades Cove is a must see.

Clingmans Dome is a real trip as well.

All free and open this time of year.

If we hook up I'll meet y'all in Tellico Plains at the Exxon ( Biker Shed ) . Let me know about what time you'll hit Tellico Plains keep in mind the fog/clouds on top of Cherohala can be heavy in the early morning hours.

Just a thought here...If you folk's could do Cherohala today ( Saturday ) and meet us in Knoxville , TN tomorrow morning ( Sunday ) I could take us a much better scenic way to the treehouse. That way you won't have to wait around on the fog/clouds to clear on Cherohala Skyline in the morning you could just come through The Dragon and stay on 129 into Knoxville.Early morning or late evening will give you the best ride through The Dragon with two Harley rally's in the hood this weekend The Dragon will be packed thoughout the day with SLOOOOW traffic.

Hey Bradvalk,

Just a thought, if on your bike, I would avoid Cades Cove like the seven year itch.  While it is beautiful, the a**holes in cages make this a miserable drive on a bike.  Even though there are signs all over the place saying no stopping in road, they keep doing it.  When my wife and I did Cades Coves on our bike, it ended up being awful because it was drive 2mph, stop so someone could take a picture of a squirrel or something, start, stop so someone else could look at a deer 1/2 mile away.  After a while, we almost came to blows with someone in front of use who kept doing this. It took us hours to get through this and I swore never again.....
