It concerned my sis-in-law, great gal, love her to death. She lives in the Columbus, OH area and is where I leave my wife in the summer while I travel to InZane or elswhere. Last evening she had taken a walk, lives in a townhouse on a golf course and was checking on a vacant unit at the end of her area. She does that as part of a type of Neighborhood Watch program. Her daughter, in her mid-50's, lives with her and has done so for many years due to extreme diabetes since childhood. She got a phone call from her mother, telling her where she was and to bring a cane, she had a slight accident. When her daughter got there(at the vacant unit), she found her mother sitting on the back deck with her leg stuck through the floor which had given way, and in terrible pain. Turned out that when she broke through the floor of the deck, it shredded her achilles tendon. I can imagine the pain, I snapped my left achilles in 1971 playing basketball, I've never felt pain like it before or since. The drs. have had to put off her surgery three times now, twice due to emergencies with heart patients, once due to sis's EKG not looking good.

As you can imagine, my wife is quite upset over this, especially since she's unable to travel herself so can't even go see her. If you would, keep this situation in mind, Bettie (sis-in-law) has been widowed for nearly 20 years now so has nobody but her daughter. As I mentioned, she's a burden due to extreme diabetes, often having to call the EMT's for her. Hopefully her son will help out, he finally retired from teaching in Ohio so is no longer punching a clock.

She is in our prayers, I hope her son will help. I know how it is when some one is hurt and so far away.
