Looks good, but it'll kill you in foggy conditions. If you're going to be riding at night, like I do occasionally, the added light will help with spotting deer etc. For night and daylight visual impact (others seeing you) I have super-blue LED lights on my crashbars. No help with visibility at night, but you look bigger to other drivers, and use almost no electricity. 55 watt mini halogens under the fairing pointed down and slightly outward to help see critters before they're on the road.
I replaced the headlamp on my GL1100 with a Zenon lamp, huge difference, and white, not amber. I loved it.
Have a great trip however you do it. Ride safe. Fred.

I purchased HI/Low HID headlights from CustomDynamics. It comes in a kit and must have an electronic ballast. First of all, the light is very bright and clear.
I would call them and ask them about these bulbs. I think they would give you the right answer.
My kit for a standard (1 bulb) was about $150.00 I think. Go on their website and see what they have.
It's like day and night.
I also changed my tach and speedo lights to LED's. I haven't used them at night, but in my garage, they are much brighter.

Blackvalk,
What kind of LED's did you install in the speedo and tach? I tried a single amber one and it just lit up a spot, not the whole dial.

There was a post on Sept. 5th in the Tech Board posted as "Tach Light". I followed that post and purchased what was recommended from super brigh led's as Gear Jammer posted.
I haven't tried them at night except in my garage, but they are much brighter and a softer look as shown on a picture shown on the "tach light" post.
Take a look, good stuff

I have tried the Silver Star and such that are similar and you will more than likely see a difference only because they are a whiter light. But they make a 100/55 bulb that you can replace the oem bulb with that works really well on high since its a 100 watts. I had them in my bike till I replaced the head lamp and driving lights with the same style unit. If you do this you will have to change out the connector because they cannot take the extra load. I rode with these bulbs awhile and they did not ruin the headlight in any way and would still use them if I had the oem housing.
