I have been having intermittent vision problems with my left eye, twirling lights etc, spent 3 hrs with the eye doctor today, and they came to the conclusion , nothing wrong with the eye. I have a blood clot in a branch off of the carotid artery, that supplies blood to the eye and nerves. So tomorrow, back to the doctor, then the hospital, for sonograms and other testing. The have put me on a bunch of meds, and orders if any change tonight, to go straight to the er. I guess I am a good candidate for a stroke.  I possibly will be going under the knife to replace or repair the vein. I will post results when I know what is going on.

Bummer, my last vision problem like that was a bleeding brain tumor that was causing my optic nerve to swell and screw up my retina. They cut it out and it wasn't malignant. All is well now.
You'll make it through and be back to greatness soon! cooldude cooldude

Let us know how it went and if we can help in any way.

Bill,

I am very sorry to hear that!  Sad

I am sure that you are in good hands, and that the Doctor will do the right thing to get you fixed up good as new. The important thing is that they found out what it was, before that clot broke loose and did you any damage. Keep us posted with what is happening.

I'm sending prayers from Connecticut! angel  Smiley

Man, what a difference a day makes! Yesterday the Florida bunch was all charged up over the great ride and day you all had on Saturday. Then we find out TJ went down on the way there, and now you have this.  Sad

I'm not sure just how it works, but I'm a firm believer that prayer and positive thinking go a long way in these situations.

OSS...thanks for being a caring and compassionate friend to Grumpy that you care enough about him that you don't want to possibly hurt him with the Oriental nurse pic...

However...you don't know me from Adam...so go ahead and kill me with that Oriental nurse pic.... Wink

Wow, no kidding. We had such a fun day Saturday. Everything was good, looking forward to riding season, Then TJ's crash, John's issue with his family in Ohio, and now Bill. Time to get the prayer machine fired up for sure.  angel I know a little about this stuff Bill and it will be just fine!! WHEN they find it is everything! Plus, I need some help with my exhaust tips too so get back in the hunt soon my friend!! God's speed.

Grumpy, prayers are on the way.  Everything will turn out ok. Glad that they found the problem.

I'm going through laser treatment for glaucoma for my eyes, followed by cataract surgery.  Getting old is not for sissies!   Hang in there!

Well so far so good, had a ct scan this morning, tomorrow getting a Bilateral Carotid Doppler ultrasound.
Pumped me full of drugs, to dissolve the clots. Later this week, scheduled with a neurologist, to discuss the treatment, may have to do some cutting to repair the problem. At least things are looking up a little. My vision has improved in the left eye, they say that is a good sign. But I will be a lot happier when they quit sticking stuff in my neck.  Thanks for the prayers and good wishes.  I will try to keep posting as this progresses.  What really sucks, cannot drive or ride while on these treatments, guess they think I will zonk out some where.

Well all the test are run, doctors have the results. Tomorrow I go to the neurosurgeon to see what is going to happen, hoping it does not involve surgery, but I will know some thing then.  I started the Valk today, still not allowed to drive -------- there it is Valk related.
