You might try a Stebel or Big BF's quad setup mounted elsewhwere
and then remove the stocker. I have a Stebel under the left side
of the tank, but I put a chrome cover over the stock horn so I
left it there for looks.

I put mine under the bike as well, in front of the tire.  I attached the assembly to the cross member where the kickstand is attached to.

The IS has the horn in a better place than the Standard.  That is an alternative that might be plug & play.

Harley Davidson horn is what I mounted there. I like the chrome look of it. Works half the time so I just use it for the novelty of it.  crazy2

I agree about the horn looks & placement.
I mounted car horns in front of the swing arm on the x-member. Relay added, uses stock button. They sound like a Town Car since that is what they came from! Heard but not seen!  cooldude

Hoser beat me to it.  I think that even without the chrome, the Stebel mounted on the left side is less obnoxious than the OEM horn.

You're likely to get all of us showing off our bling horns rather than answering your original question.  I don't even know what the stock horn looks like.  I didn't put this on, but came with my bike and I believe it to be the Rivco horn.  Sorry to not answer your question.  You may now call me a showoff.

BigBF Quads under the bike cooldude cooldude cooldude
Unseen but definitely heard!

PS: Two of my co-workers, both on Hardleys, want to upgrade after a short / loud demo.
Had to break it to them that the BigBF setup might not fit on a mid sized bike!

Basically what everyone here is saying is that finding a better place for the stock horn is redundant because the stock horn is useless, wherever you put it. I can yell louder.

You don't need to relocate the stock horn, you need to replace it.

Buy an air horn, or a BigBF setup, or go to pick-a-part and tear horns off a car or truck and get creative. The only thing you need the stock horn for is to trigger the relay for whatever setup you go with. And definitely use a relay.

I'll second that location for a Stebel!!! Cool The "NON-chrome" actually does well there especially if you don't have the chrome covers everywhre. cooldude    But I guess I am a CHROME NUT!

Cool another chance to share some of my hard work from my Multipoint upgrade thread.... Evil

Yes,

Buy the IS bracket, mount it and the horn to it, and extend the wiring. Works like a champ.
Did it on my standard so I could mount wind deflectors (lowers made of lexan).

I dressed up my stock horn by replacing it with "Freeway Blasters" and mounted them to the lift adapter.

I have the chrome trumpet style air horns mounted underneath my 2000 Valk Interstate and like the location. One has finally gone bad.  Before I buy a replacement set, does anyone have a spare for sell?  I have also considered replacing what I have with a "Bad Boy".  Any thoughts?

Where did you get the I/S bracket for the Stu horn?  I want to do the same to my '98 std.  I got a black horn.

Go to a salvage yard and get a pair of horns off of a Buick or a Dodge Product.   Mount it under the bike in front of the rear wheel.  USE A RELAY.  Just extend the wire from the old horn under the tank and down under the side cover, left or right one, makes no difference.

I have Big BF's Quad horns on MGM and the Chevy Trike I have a pair of 85 Buick horns.    Them suckers will wake up the dead.   They will even get a semi to move over then look to see what it is.   He chased me to the exit I was headed for and pulled off with me.  At the bottom of the exit ramp he got my attention and asked what they were off of.    Said he had a beep beep on his Toyota car and wanted to wake some folks up when needed.   Said the Toyota was toooo small for his truck AIR Horns.    I also have a set of air horns on the Chevy Trike.

I think I still have the I/S horn mount.  Will sell it if you need it.
