A few weeks ago at a car-bike show a fellow approached me and asked about my Valkyrie. His wife retired from Honda and had since died. He said he had some employee items he would give me seeing I was really "into" the Valk. He said these coins(1.75") were given to employees and his wife collected many from others that could care less. Over the years he has given them to Valk owners and I got the last one. He didn't remember the occasion for the pin. I have saw similar pins on ebay, but they do not look as sharp/detailed or have 2 pins?
I rushed to his house asap and bought the hats I wanted. I was hoping to find a GL-X hat that my BIL(Honda employee) gave me years ago(proto-type flat 6 ?) I lost mine. He was collecting Zippo's and old Honda twins

Adrian, if you want the Canadian hat I will send it to you, thanks again for decals.

From what I've read the coin was given to Honda employees to comemorate the initial production of the Interstate model Valkyrie. Been wanting one for no particular reason, but they usually go for more then I will pay just to have it for the fun of it. Congrats, Dave

Since I'm back working local, I'm starting to see more old friends(a lot work at Honda or retired by now). I'll see what other treats they have hidden away !!

I'm really not that attached to my coin because I never see myself with an interstate. Was their a standard issued?

I have a similar VTX pin that I was given when I did a demo ride in Daytona. That was either before the VTX was released but was available for preorder or the first year of the VTX. At one point I had two or three because I rode the VTX several times.

I gave one to the Indian rep. I had complained that the S&S engine still vibrated to much. The Indian felt like a foot massage on the floorboards. He responded that all V-Twins had vibrations. I promptly said the VTX didn't. He told me it wasn't a V-Twin. We discussed the definition of the V-Twin for a bit. In the end, I gave him a pin and told him he needed to get a test ride.

I have another VTX pin in a coin jar so I see it from time to time.

I know many people were given Valk pins as part of the Inzane/Homecoming events. I wonder too if they were given as part of the test rides once upon a time.

No, only the interstate. If you would part with it for a reasonable sum, please pm me as I am interested. It's probably the closest I'll get to owning an Interstate which I would love. Dave
