Last week a contingent of your hard-working VRCC staff headed to Arkansas to check out ground zero. We met with the Mayor, police chief, chamber of commerce, and of course the hotel rep. They are all very excited about hosting our event. The mayor and police chief are avid motorcycle riders and members of the Blue Knights. Police chief was very cooperative about supplying units for our escorted rides. Although I wasn't on a motorcycle, I got a small taste of the local roads, and I all I can say is WooooHooooo.... can't wait to lay 2 wheels on them.

Downtown has a sort of French Quarter feeling, with lots of quaint shops for the shoppers among us.

Did some image analysis, and based on the pictures posted above, I think I found that same scene in Google Streetview, which would place it at Eureka Springs... http://tinyurl.com/3c6t56e

There is also a photographer set up as you are coming in to town. However, our pics were taken as we were leaving town. You can view all the pics at www.ridepics.net Our pics were on 9/11 between 2:00 and 3:00.

Eureka Springs is awesome, lotsa good plces to grit, almost every road in any direction is more than great. Some very nice camping available if so inclined. They put on a Passion Play that is not to be missed, and all northern Ark & southern Mo offers super riding. Spent a week blasting the curves on the ZX14 a year or two ago during the fall colors, and had a total blast. Bring a camera for sure as the whole area is very scenic. Its also an easy ride from there to Branson, and there is lotsa good stuff to see there even if you arent intrested in the shows.

However very scenic, your first pic is no where near Eureka Springs. It is on hwy 7 not far north of Hot Springs. The mountain in the upper left with the bare spot is called busted mt. it actually has two peaks. No doubt tho E P is a good place for a rally with great riding, I too was there last weekend. Downtown, from a previous visit there

Downtown has a sort of French Quarter feeling, with lots of quaint shops for the shoppers among us. if memory serves my correctly, take a left at the "y", end of the block. downstairs is an excellent cafe. not very big but very good food. called "the celler" i think

Disco, Shiner aint no micro brewery. We can even get it here in Oklahoma. Also, way back before I became a proud Valkyrie owner, I attended a Kawasaki rally in Eureka Springs and I will highly recommend the riding in that area and the town in general...Jim

Aw, come on, Jim. When a bunch of us visited Shiner a couple of years ago they said that, even if their line has no stoppages for three shifts straight, it can barely break 900,000 bottles per day. Actually, it was kind of an inside poke at Carolyn's newly found appreciation. If you're coming south from Branson, consider taking Missouri 86 west across Table Rock Lake and down through Blue Eye to your choice of routes to 62 west to Eureka Springs. That whole area is beautiful.

Very biker friendly townfolk. Great restaurants, scenery, and roads. Trolley available for those who fear maneuvering the steep narrow streets for whatever reason. Not far from the Pig Trail/Hwy 23 for some great curves and scenery. Hwy 16 and 62 are great too. Several of the motels have hot tubs and there are many B&B in the area.

Yes, Dave I do have a new found appreciation.

Are you an organ, tissue and eye donor for your state? Did you know one person can save or enhance the lives of up to 75 people. The # of people waiting for organs in the US would overflow the University of Michigan football stadium. It's the biggest in the country. Will seat over 109,000.
