Woody's fairing is the way to go.  I adapted a Harley fairing on mine, and by the time I made the brackets and bought all the parts I have around $500 in mine.  If I had to do it over again, I would do a Woody's without question.

When I was researching fairings for my standard, I found these.....

Tsukayu....

Radio Caddy Fairing....

Hoppe Quadzilla Fairing....

Rifle....

Wide Open Customs.....

Memphis Shades Batwing fairing....

And Woody's.....

http://www.woodysfairings.com/fairingsetc/HNFVLKX.html

I had narrowed down the choices to two....the Wide Open and Woody's.  Wide Open is a plastic fairing and Woody's is fiberglass.....and Woody's is made specific for the Valkyrie instead of a one size fits all kinda thing from everyone else.

I bought a Woody.

Here's just one thread about fairings.....

There are well more than a few threads about fairings on here.....just look/search around.  You'll find 'em.

CD on a bike? Sans skipping? Over the years I found it only possible using a massive [consumed an entire saddlebag] 10 disk changer - greatly suspended within a large enclosure. The Sony CDX-737. It worked flawlessly via wired marine remote.
I even bought & returned a very expensive head unit w/suspension cd player. It skipped just as much as a cheap am/fm/cd head unit. I forgot it's name, but it was designed for off-road in a hummer. I don't know about the Hummer, but, it skipped like hell on the Valk.

Then I put a Trike Shop fairing on, dumped the changer, installed a Sony am/fm/cd head unit. It skips too! Especially in a fairing.

It time to convert your cd's to mp3. It a bit of a project, but you'll be happier in the end.
Most head units have an auxiliary input for mp3 players and such. I currently play my mp3's thru the stereo/CB headset & fairings speakers via the gps. I get a very nice "surround sound" without generally having to crank the fairing speakers in town, but on the open road...

Forgo the Trike Shop fairing - too much work & expense. There are better solutions these day's. Like Woody's Fairings & others.

Yep, CD players might not be the best option for a motorcycle.

That's why I bought the Sony DSX-S100 "Digital Media Player" for my Woody's Fairing.  Sony retails it for $139, but I found it online for less than $100.00.

It won't play CDs.....but it does MP3 players really well.

I have that sony device as well.  BE WARNED:  In the sunlight it is absolutely worthless...you cannot read the display at all.

I've got the Woody's fairing and I love it. Also have the Sony stereo with built in MP3 tray. Works great. I also velcroed the remote for the stereo on my gas tank bib so I don't have to reach up for volume control.

I have a Memphis Shades batwing,

If you want a class fairing with radio capabilities, get a WOODY!

His cost more, but it is light years ahead of the Memphis Shades.

Actually, when I was shopping around for a fairing, Woody's was about half, or more of what everyone else wanted for one.  You just have to put your own radio in a Woody......but I got a really nice radio for less than a 100 bucks.
