Off today after 2 long weeks at work.  Cooling off a little here in the desert, less than 100*.  Took off to head up into mtns.

Went through windmills on the way up.

Then through some twisting mountain roads up to Pioneertown, built in 1946 for Western movies.  Annie Oakley, Gene Autrey, Buffalo Bill Jr.

Went to one of my favorites, Pappy & Harriets.  Didn't stay for the entertainment.  Eric Burden of the Animals there sometimes.

I like it there because they do not tolerate stupidity.

Had some water in a canning jar and headed home.  What a nice day!

Yes it's Buffalo Mountain Windmill Farm I think it has 34 windmill's  now. These are owned-and- operated by the company I work for .You can see them from The Devil's Triangle ( Hwy.116 ) out by Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary....Pictures taken on one of our four-wheeler rides.

Nice scenery, looks like a cool place.

Thanks for sharing.

This is much better than the political threads.

But I like them too.

Thanks Donaldc for sharing the pics.  Cool old town and they still drink out of mason jars like we used to do when we were kids.

They gave us our tea in mason jars at Po' Folk's restaurant back when they used to
be around here. My Yankee friend insisted on calling them Poor FoLks (he very distinctly
pronounced not only the R in poor, but the L in folks...), funny what you still remember 30 years later...

Thanks for the report. Good stuff! I gotta zip on over from Phx. this winter. Maybe you could show me the sights! I don't think I'm too far from your home 20.

Send me a note if you get this way, a lot of good rides.  Probably very similar around your area.  I am going to try to get over your way and up to Jerome when it cools off.  Went that way in cage before and want to go on bike.

A company is planning to build some of those near us.

Lots of people have their "Dander" up and are vehemently protesting against them, and the first building permit hasn't even been applied for yet.

I saw some up in PA awhile back and thought that they were pretty "cool" looking.
