Broke the pull throttle cable just outside Robbinsville, NC. Can't imagine how, but can a cable be temporarily fixed?  Am I in Robbinsville till I can get one shipped here?  Thoughts?  Advice?  I turned the idle up to 3k and limped to mcdonalds to use their Internet. My cell is 479 5310291. I'll watch for replies. My AT&T coverage is very poor here.   Thanks.  Al

Here's a quick reply, though not well thought out.  Could you swap cables?  Use the return cable in the pull cable spot.  It is dangerous not having a return cable, but could get you home.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, i just looked through the service manual and I think it might be possible to switch cables. I'm not possitive but it might work. Good luck

You're probably good to go now that you've lined up a cable, but if you find
you still need something, this local-to-robbinsville shop seems to specialize
in "getting you going again..." - they had the right Metzlers for Chromedome's
bike on hand, and they replaced my front wheel bearing in less than 1 hour...

I can vouch for Wheelers too - they not only had the Metzler for the rear of my bike in stock, but rear pads as well, and for them to do all the work (except empty the saddlebags  Grin ) to replace the tire and brake pads on my I/S in August when vacation took me through that area, it only cost $300 - and yes, that includes the parts!
