98' Tourer.. installed CT General Altima HP 205/60/16... Got everything back on last night about 10:00pm, rode it around the block and everthing seemed to be OK (no rubbing that I could see).  Was invited to a Police/Firefighter Benefit ride 125mile run at 9:00am, so it was trial by fire.   With about 2 miles of practice, I took off riding with this group of 70 -80 bikes.
Sure I noticed a few little differences, but not that big a deal to me... seemed to ride good, the CT absorbs a lot of the road imperfections and smooths thing out a bit.  Will look foreward to putting a few more mile on the CT, on my own turms (with out the confines of a group).  So far, So good...I'll give it a thumbs up.   (cage bolt mod done / have about 1/8" right side clearance from swingarm).
I'll take a break at the 500mile mark and eat my cookies.    Vinnie N. Idaho

Keep the cookie...probably sugar-free anyway. Not everyone stays
with the Darkside, but the vast majority does. I can't envision
leaving it anytime soon.....or anytime for that matter. YMMV

Just got my Valk about 1 1/2 months ago and it has new rubber on it. I plan on going Darkside some time next year. My other bike was a VTX 1300R with Darkside. 21,000 miles with a CT and no sign of wear. (Rated for 70,000). Loved it.
I have been enjoying the difference in the cornering between the VTX and the Valk. Wonder how much of that is due to being back on a MT.
I did have to do a panic stop on the way home from work this week and I missed the CT. I could stop much shorter and straighter with the CT. But also now that I have a premium bike, I really enjoy the twisties more right now. Hopefully that will remain once I go Darkside again. cooldude

I went darkside a little over 2 weeks ago.  Went for a 6,200 mile ride from Tampa FL to Utah and putted around in CO and AZ for a couple days.  With that ride being on the new CT, I will never go back to a MT.  I rode with 8 other guys, most Hardley's and they were all worried about me not being able to handle the curvy roads...  After day 2 when I was confident in the tire I let em have it.  Dragging pegs at 75 WOT is no problem, never worried me a single time.  My brother was one of the 8 on his VTX 1800 with a brand new Avon Cobra on the back for the trip.  He is nearly due for another new one, he'll be going darkside as well.  Bridgestone Potenza G019 205/60 is what I'm running.  Don't see any reason to ever try anything else, works perfectly for me.
