I was stationed there in the 70's. New Mexico is beautiful. See as much of it as you can.

My wife was there last week. I used to live there for several years and still have a lot of friends there.

The turquoise trial is really beautiful. That is a good recommendation. If you are in Santa Fe and like some twisties with great mountain views go up Artist Road to the ski basin. Trust me you will love it. All of the aspens should be changing color right now too. It is an amazing sight.

For breakfast, I recommend Pasquales. They have the best breakfast in Santa Fe. Ask for Frank and tell him "Doc" sent you.

For great (and hot) green chili go to Horseman's Haven on Cerillios Rd. Especially for breakfast.

As for the trike, there is a local company that makes them in Santa Fe. Some are really ornate.

Another great ride is up to Los Alomos/White Rock areas. Go through Los Alomos to the T at the base of the mountains and take a left. You'll love it.

If you are looking for pampering, go out to Ojo Calliente to the hot mineral springs and have a soak/massage.

My wife learned that I am just some guy in Iowa but in Santa Fe I'm the guy to know.

thanks Paul Czuch and Jason  I just got back from work its about 11pm and need to head out to the airport at 330am. Fortunately I have a limo picking me up as I am flying out of Newark but flying back into LaGuardia so I will be able to rest on the way.

I will only be in Houston for an hour, not enough time to get thru security so will just have to wait till GOTF to see my texan friends

Cousin Doc, my wife has a laptop computer so when I get there I will check your routes out and try to find frank.  One Jolly Rogers to another I am counting on your reputation to not get me in trouble.   angel

Valker you knew when I was gonna be in New Mexico so no whining  coolsmiley

Lookin forward to my first trip to New Mexico's high desert, too bad I will be back home sunday

Oss... to bad you don't have longer in Houston.  We'll just have to wait for GOTF!!!!
The Ojos Calliente's is a REAL treat!!!!!!   7 different hot springs with different minerals.... mud spa, salt rubs , massage.....  feels pretty good on old bones!!!!!

Oss there is a 100 mile loop that starts and ends in Taos. Visit the privately built VietNam  Memorial/ Museum along the way. The ride runs you along the top of the mountains, you stay at 10,000 ft or more all the way, very cool...

vmodon   wife gets wicked headaches at over 8000 ft  we were gonna stay at a b&B at the ski area and turned around and now we are in town at hampton inn  6300ft  so the ride is out

caliente was awesome, glad no picks of oss in the mud 
got a good sunburn too   

we are gonna see pueblos and such tomorrow and then head back either to santa fe or albeq

chuck I got your number and will call when I know what the boss' plan is

this supporting the economy is tough work, could sure use some help  lol
