Does anyone have experience riding in this area????  I try to avoid the superslabs, which leaves, often times, too many options!! 

Looks like 74/278 is a decent way to Atlanta......What's the best way around Atlanta???  Seems like the traffic there is ALWAYS horrid!!

Once you get near Atlanta, perhaps drop down to 20, go past Atlanta, and then
North to Athens...

If time is no object ... 278 will hit Hwy 5 N - take that to hwy 120 until it hits 316 then on to Athens

78/278 to Gadsden, AL stopping in Cullman to eat at Winghot's Downtown Grill
http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/74/781834/restaurant/Alabama/Downtown-Grill-Cullman

Then from Gadsden 411 to Cartersville, GA then 20 to Canton, Cumming and on to 316 east to Athens

That, plus I'm remembering my previous trip back from Cheaha on I85 through the middle of Atlanta... bleggh...
