How much crap would I get if
I rode my Harley to Inzane next year?
It has been a while since I have been
on a road trip with this bike. I would
like to go where I don,t have to be dressed
in leather and drink all night.

I rode the Chevy Trike to 3 of them and no problem......   Most of the people don't give a crap what ya ride in on.   If I was younger I'd try horseback.   I'd do like a true Harley rider however.     Trailer within shouting distance and then ride the horse in.

You won't have a problem.  From what I've seen, it's the rider not the ride that's important.

Would you ride your Valkyrie to a HD rally? Would they even let you in? Not at any HOG rides around here. Just thinking.

I think a better way to look at this is that you have 10 months to plan and execute a road trip on your Harley so you can get home in plenty of time to plan and execute a road trip on your Valkyrie.   Wink

How am I doing so far???   coolsmiley

I recall a Yamaha, a Harley and even a young lady on a Spyder and none of them got any grief.

But the question of "what kind of crap would I get if I rode my Valkyrie to a HOG rally?" seems like it would have a different answer.

I say go for it.  I rode my Electra Glide Classic to CBR a couple of years ago.  For the most part,
everyone was fine with it.

We're not hog members trying to fit in with a group and trying to feel better about our own rides by lookin' down on somebody else. Nobody will care what you ride or what brand of jeans you wear, this ain't high school. Although you might get some good natured kidding if you win the "slow ride". Grin

We're not about butt jewelery, we're about enjoying the ride and the brotherhood/sisterhood of riding.

Bring what you ride and ride what you bring.

Showed up at my 1st Inzane (IZ9) with 3 Valks in the group and my wife on a Harley. The HD rider gave herself more crap about it than any other person in attendance. I asked her " Who said anything? and you better point them out or give names" She thought about it a sec. and said " No one even looked sideways at it...but Willow kept trying to show me how we could lower a Valk to fit me ! LOL "

Truly, I think as mature, responsible, dedicated motorcycle riders we should never look down our noses or otherwise discriminate against riders on other brands of two wheeled means of transport.  It is, however, most difficult to overcome one's compassion for the under-privileged.  Wink

As to the original poster's question, ride it in Shortleg.  If you can stand to do it, we can stand to see it.   Smiley

Oh, by the way, the mayor and police chief of Eureka Springs are both long distance Harley riders.

125 Miles in ONE day once!!

just skiddin'!

No one will bother ya.  If anyone does, put the rest of us on him/her and we'll get it straightened out.

Now, that said... when you ride in on your HD, you'll WISH you were on the Valk.

Any time anyone gives ya grief over the Maple Leaf - tell 'em what I tell 'em - 'It's my don't shoot me - I'm visiting flag!".

Been working so far - been living in Georgia for 18yrs and ALWAYS ride with the Maple Leaf on the bike and usually a big one on the back of my vest.

(H*ll it even works in Alabama - I think that is cuz my in laws just get confused over what it is!)

Ride It!  Wing, HD, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, etc...  What matters is that you are there with us, NOT what you ride.

I'm with Jabba, just tell us "who" and it will get taken care of...  Smiley

You'll be fine. Your going for the people, not the bike.

I dont know any HD rallies.  ??? Except for the HOG event. But then again you need, I think, to be a member of HOG anyway to get in. Been to alot of events where its 99% HD and have never been shuned. Even HD sponsored events.

Not to worry, everyone will be too busy dinging me for riding the ZX14 or the Concours 14.  Not sure yet which, but plan on taking advantage of the superb handling of one of these machines on those awesome  roads that abound in northern Ark and southern Mo.  Seriously you have been around a long time and know that some good natured ribbing may fly, but it is just in fun.  I may be trailering, so if that Hardley breaks down, for a nominal fee, I will be glad to haul it in for you.  2funny

89% of harleys registered are still on the road. The other 11% made it home.
Perhaps my issues were because mine was a 1956 and I was unskilled in proper care and feeding.
Ride it. If you care, youre probably the only one.

The only reason for the Harley is I need to get it out
on the road for a few days.
Looks to be a good ride to AR from Maryland.
