I mentioned a while back about low mile scoots in the little sale paper we get here. Just a small sample here. 1990 HD Fatboy original grey ghost 1 of 1500 20xxx miles. 1998 HD fatboy 11xxx miles. 2001 H D sportster 10300 miles. 2002 Suzuki Marauder 800cc 15xxx miles. Also listed is a 2005 Yamaha Royal Star 1300 4 cyl with LOW miles. Sellers emphisis not mine. We have people right here with low mileage M/C. I'm guessing some folks don't ride near as much as some others. Knowing full well there will come a day (GOD forbid) i"ll not be able or inclined to ride mine. Hopefully it won't be a real LOW mileage Valkyrie when i or my estate go to sell it. Just trying in my own way to impart some information here. RIDE SAFE.

Unfortunately,,, I'm one of those who hardly ever rides. My 97 Valk Trike has just over 6,500 miles on her. I "am", making an effort to get her out more often. Just don't have anyone down here to ride with so it's mainly about me forcing myself to get off my butt and take her out for a ride. We'll see.

I only put about 7,000 miles on my Harley in the eight or so years I owned it. I never much rode with anyone then. I put about 10,000 miles a year on my Valkyrie... The Valkyrie's a good (Great) bike, but probably the Valkyrie-people is what makes the big difference... -Mike

Not trying to be mean here but, why have the bike/trike as it doesn't sound like you LIKE to ride. I ride whenever I have time whether alone or with people. I ride for my enjoyment and the enjoyment comes from riding when with people or alone when I have a destination or I don't. Just an observation.

That's the same question I've been asking myself and I've seriously been thinking about selling her. But, I'm giving myself one last chance to get off my kiester and ride. I'm currently doing a few upgrades to the trike and if this doesn't light a fire under my rump, then it's selling time.

My guess is they are married. With the x-wife, I had the Valk 6 years and had 15k on it at the time of divorce. Met Kit in 06 and now we have 69k on it. women will make ya or break ya.

It depends on your experience. In my case, even tho my wife didn't ride, she understood my need to.
I, too, catch myself putting off riding on good riding days. I really don't know why but I think that it has something to do with age.
I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. However, I have days when it just doesn't 'feel' right to ride.
The good thing is that the bike is paid for and it's holding its value , I don't have much in it, and any ride is a plus.

I have 242+K on MGM.
10K of those are probably with a riding partner.
# 2 son has probably put 5K on it.
The rest I put on riding by myself.
That was nice to be retired, had some coins in the bank and I'd take off, wife had to be called every other day to tell her my location. She kept $$$$ in my riding acct when I was on the road.
I remember 1 time I called her from Yuma, CA, called her 2 days later from Alaska. Rode up to see my adopted son, wife and kids. Stayed 3 days and took off again. Had to service bike while there so that took an extra day.
Then I ruined my CT on a sharp rock, was about 100 miles from nowhere, don't even remember the town now, but all they had was a HD shop. No MT my size, asked them if they would mount another CT if I could get one, nope, can't do that, we argued a little bit finally I told him to order the firkin tire and I'd be gone. He finally pissed me off enough we put a smaller HD tire on it, and I put it back together. Go down to the states and in Tacoma, WA found a motor shop who would mount a CT for me. Had it mounted and again put it together. Missed a couple of every other day calls and talk about getting the riot act read to me. From then on it was call every night and leave a voice mail Monday-thru- Friday, Saturday and Sunday call till I got her on the phone.
Left from Tacoma and got into Missoula, Montana, running pretty close to the century mark and hit a railroad spike. That SOB took all the wiring out underneath the rear fender, clanged the under fender pretty good before I got him whoaed down.
Had to get another firkin MT put on. Took off for home and run non-stop to the house. It was close to 1,300 miles, if memory is correct, I did it in like 30 hours. Had a couple of cat naps on City Park tables. Town cop run me off of 1 about 3 in the morning. Had been gone 36 days. Was nice to get home. My Discover card had one hell of a balance on it.
Parked the bike for 3 weeks, the son rode it, told me he hated the MT, told him to go get a CT and have it mounted. He did, and MGM has only had 1 MT since then, Kamikaze changed it out for me. Thanks Craig and Chris.

R J love yer tales of derring do. I have an EX wife in the lacasa. When i wanna go i go. Might be something better(yeah right) than 2 or 3 wheel therapy but i sure haven't found it yet. Course i ain't looked real hard for alternative therapy either. I just got back from a little out and about of 90 miles. Anyday i can ride be a good day. Anyday i can't ride is NOT a good day. Course when i'm takin my dirt nap i just ain't planning on worrying too much about it. RIDE SAFE.

Not so, Fudgie. One is what he is, or rather what he chooses to be. A good woman can certainly enhance or bring out what is in you. The wrong woman can do the same. Neither of them put anything into a man that isn't already there.
That's my view. I know others see it differently.
As far as low mileage riders go. I ride pretty much whenever I get the chance and I thank God for riders who keep a bike in low miles for those of us who would rather buy used and ride it until it's used up.

I've got a low mileage Valk...usually gets around 30mpg As to the used market...I expect mine will be worth about $2.34 when I'm done with her! Married? Nah. I'm married. We are what we are and cannot be changed. If my walkabouts weren't okay with her we'd not be married. It's not like I can just stop... "The bike or the babe" cannot *ever* become a required choice. First off, I'd always choose "all of the above" (I never colored inside the line anyway). Secondly, nobody would be happy if that choice had to be made.
