Well, I cannot seem to go to long without tearing something up.  Broke my left knee (Tibia Plateau Compression) and required some repair.  I now have a plate with eight screws and a bone graph holding it together.  The cartilage was damaged but the surgeon said I have a good chance of it being okay for the future.  Riding has been put on hold for another month or so.

Looks like the surgeon did a real good job.  One of Oss' secretaries doubles as a nurse in her spare time.  She'll be happy to take care of all your needs.  Feel better soon, brother!

Good luck to you! I had a MC accident in April, fractured my Fibula up by the knee, had a plateau fracture of the Tibia and tore my ACL. Fractures healed up well, The ACL is still paining me, but I was riding in 6 weeks. Trying to put off any ACL surgery.
Heal Up well and listen to the Dr's!

Damn Bro, you got more scars on your legs now than I do.

Heal fast but correctly, and by all means follow the Dr's advice.

Happy Trails. cooldude

Mase,

Looks like one i may have designed....

Not the pic you posted, that is not what you have in, you have a Prox Tibia Plate, designed to support your tibia and especially that little impacted area.

Listen to your doc and do what they tell you. They should have you into rehab in a day or two...remember, the more you move the sooner you will get back to riding...and do us all a favor...stay the F off the roof!

Heal fast.... cooldude

Mase,
Judging by the pictures you are screwed! (Pun intended). Cheesy

Joking aside, it is no picnic. I've had surgery on both knees; then on both shoulders. The left shoulder last November was the worse.
The scar on my shoulder looked very similar to yours. After therapy and the recovery period, I have regained full function... I dare say, better than before the injury!

I wish you the same success; good health and a long life close to your loved ones.  cooldude

Could be that they were waiting for the swelling to go do and the soft tissues to stablize. Pretty servere fracture. They are correct you will not be running any marathons for a while. Just stick with the Physio and you will be back to riding. They could also be waiting to see how your healing goes, push to hard immediately and your fratre could collapse. So if they are telling to take it slow, do it. Would not want to go and have them re-do it.

Bone quality looks pretty good...best of luck with the healing.  Wink

My ski instructor friend did exactly the same thing at the beginning of last season. Hard carving down a freshly groomed slope when her outside ski broke through the crust at 40 mph. Xray of the fix looked just like yours. Took her first ski runs 12 weeks later and has had a complete recovery since. She worked real hard and did lots of physical therapy. Hope yours works as good as her's did.

I work for Synthes...zimmer is a competitor...They all work well in the hands of a capable surgeon, that is most important...

I spend a lot of time in training, how to fix fractures, how to look at fractures...I also used to spend a great deal of time training on how to fix fractures.

Keep up the healing...
