For a long time those of us born in 59 were not anything.  There was a gap between Boomer and Gen X.   Based on persona and traits I fall somehwere between the two.  So,  just like those folks who object to a particular person being called their leader without being consulted,  I don't want to be considered a Boomer but I don't want to be called Disco Era either.  How about Boom X?
