I Just spent 3 days at the MRFs "Meeting of the Minds"; an international motorcycle rights organization symposium.
We had guest speakers from Belgium and the UK speaking on behalf of FEMA (the EU version of the MRF).
Imre Sauter of the AMA Government Relations gave talk about the need for all motorcyclists (Tourers, Off-roaders, and multiple wheeled motorized vehicles [Trikes, scooters, mopeds, ATVs, etc]) and how motorcycle accident statisics are recorded useing all of those types of vehiles (lumping them together with M/Cs.
Most new M/Cs now use fuel injection, catalatic converters, On-Board Diagnostics, ABS brakes, GPS, etc.
The owners of those new M/Cs may own their machines but the insurance companies and the DOT own the OBD information in the event of an accident.
Big Brother is watching. If this causes you concern, check out the AMA, ABATE, and the MRF.
