I don't even know if this is possible, but are there any aftermarket radios that can be mounted on a Valkyrie Standard?

My standard has a MotorTrike kit. And, she has every single Motosen Gauge already mounted on the tree. No room left there at all! So even if there was some kind of radio, I'd have no idea where to mount it. Also as another twist. I'd like something that I can plug in a thumb drive with my own music as I only listen to 50's and early 60's.

Yeah,, I know,, I know,, I'm too picky. In all honesty, I highly doubt that there's any type of unit out there that would fit my requirements and it's really not a big issue. Listening to the wind and traffic is all I really need. I just thought I'd throw this out to see what ideas you all might have.

Safe riding!  cooldude

take a look at the helmet mounted Scala G4 powerset communicators.  They have bluetooth for your cell phone and if you have a smart phone then you can store and wirelessly listen to mp3 from your phone through your stereo headsets.  The G4 also has built in FM receiver so you can listen to your preset radio stations.  The G4 (stereo) is an upgrade to the older Q2 (mono).  The G4 also has the capability to update the headset software for additional features as they are developed and to set your FM radio stations by USB from your computer (instead of blindly searching as the older Q2 does).

If you have a passenger, then you can use these to communicate as well.  The bike to bike range is improved....literature says 1 mile, but 1/2 mile is more likely.

We love ours.  I have my cell phone paired to my Zumo 550 gps and the gps paired to the G4.  I store my MP3 files on the Zumo so I have lots of music and communication options.  It's nice to have the turn-by-turn voice instructions, radio, cell, bike-to-bike, and MP3 music all through one system.  Bought my set last year for a little over $300....the same (or lower) price than what you would pay for just bike mounted speaker systems without all the additional features or radio/MP3.

Good luck...

I hate things mounted on handlebars.  So I wear an mp3 player on belt and have sony clip on headsets "set" inside the ear cups of my helmet.  Works fantastic........nothing connected to the bike just ride and listen

The pics on the web site are pretty close to my setup on the bars only differance on mine would be the metal brackets on the speakers.I  would shorten up about one inch and redrill a 5/16 hole for the bolt. The reason for that is they are a little long and you get a little vibration and the bracket can break(the holes drilled for a 3/8 bolt from the factory) and the kury bar clamps i have are 5/16.Yes one of mine broke but the company sent me new ones.Other than that i ran the speaker and remote wires under the tank and put the unit itself in the battery box it fits very nice where the tool kit goes. Then hook the power direct to battery notch out the side of the battery box to run for the wires to go thru so you can put the cover back on .I ran the flexable antennas for the radio and wireless remote under the chrome that holds the rear fender up so you can't see them.I mounted the wired remote right in front of the tank .(I used the bolt that holds the front tank tab down.)Sorry I have no pics of mine but its a pretty clean install all you really see is the two chrome speakers they are kinda small versions of the speedo and tach so it looks good. IMHO. The sound isnt bose quality but its plenty loud enough to hear going down the road at 70 and the wife says she can hear it too.I like that it has a radio it tunes to the best station signal if you don't like the station hit the remote button tunes to the next .The best feature I think is the sd card slot i have over 15 hours of music on mine dont really need a radio. It does have a spot to plug in a ipod too if you so wish to go that way.the wireless remote is good if you wish to give it up to the better half so she can change stations or music on the sd card but you know how us guys are about giving up the remote Grin I've only had it this summer its a new company bought it at the donnie smith bike show last spring i have been pretty happy so far.hope i have been helpful i some way

Very helpfull thx. I do use 2" speakers with a mp3 player. A little loudness would be great. I'm good at reading clouds and stuff but would like the radio for better local weather during travels.
