I took the old Huffy on her maiden voyage today.....I hadn't gone 50 yards until I had to stop to raise the seat up.....the power stroke length was too short resulting in a reduced power to weight ratio.....

I stopped a couple of more times until she was comfortable and hitting on both cylinders....I am having some rattling coming from the tranny and have to figure out if it's a loose bearing or the crank shaft....

.....I'm torn on what to lube her up with.....WD40, or 30 weight?.....

She rides smooth and tracks straight and thank God the seat is comfy.....there are a few rattles and shakes on rough ground or pavement when the fenders are flailing around.....I popped a couple of small wheelies to get her up on a side walk a time or two....no damage to the front wheel that I could see?....

.....
She rides smooth on those Fat tires but I bet she'd corner even quicker with a smaller tire on the back....on the plus side, she handles the grass/dirt without much effort.....and she's fun in the curves.....especially the switchbacks!!.....

I forgot to take a water bottle with me, and I regretted that mistake....luckily I found a water fountain at the park to tank back up with.....

.....the basket was very handy to keep the cell phone in in case of any roadside emergencies(in case I had to call the Boss to come get me due to vapor lock...

)
I felt a little cramped and may have to get some highway pegs for the downhill sections.....
The specifics are that I took a 45 minute ride(stopped a few times to inspect the tranny noise)....my max speed was 23.3 mph on a long downhill sweeper.....and I averaged 9.1 mph......I traveled a distance of 6.9 miles.....and burned off over 200 calories......
Did I mention that my legs feel like rubber twigs??.....I will probably pay for that tomorrow.... :'(
There was a time or two on the uphill sections that I was cursing myself for not getting a multi-speed transmission, but I powered through......This bike would be a dream bike for the flat lands/Florida area.....as it's a workout on the hills here in the Piedmont of Georgia.......I'm going to alternate her and my walks as the mood strikes me(and according to the days one of my hot neighbors wants to walk with me)....
