The Kuryakyn ISO grip fell off the clutch side of my 2000 Interstate.  Lucky me, the bike was parked in the garage!  Anyway, a small solid aluminum plug fell away from the end of the bar too.  I looked at the parts fiche for the bike and didn't see a bar end weight for the bike.  I checked with Kuryakyn and they don't provide a bar end weight with their grips.  What's the purpose of this weight?  Do I need it?

Thanks,
Steve

i think i know the part that you are talking about....that weight is not a bar end weight...it is a spacer that goes into the grip before you install the grip.  and yes...it does come with the kuryakyn grip set.

That is part of the grip, here is a link to the installation instructions, about the second page, step #6 shows the plug and where it goes.

Thrud, you live in my town and I have Kury ISO grips.  In fact I may have an extra left.  Give me a call.  I'll be home late tonight (20:45 - 21:00) and I should be at home Friday during the day and Saturday.

My phone number is nine one three five three zero 5126.

Ah ha!  This is exactly the info I was looking for!  Thanks for the link to the instructions.  It shows the part in question.  Hopefully, I'll have my bike ready to go to Cassiday Bike Run this Sunday.

You are a fantastic group.  Thanks for the quick assist.
