I'm buying some gauges from Motosens and they offer a fuel gauge that works off the intersate fuel sender in the tank.

Question is - can the IS  fuel tank sender be fitted to the F6C ???. Doesn;t matter if the tank is different size - can compensate for this at the gauge end by altering setting.

Thanks

If you are asking will the sending unit work on a Standard tank, the answer is no.
There is no fitting for a sending unit on a Standard tank.

Plus, part of the problem is the physical size of the tank. The sensor arm sticks out into an area to one side of the tank and it's been said there isn't enough room for it in the smaller tank.

An IS tank might cost you $500-$900. Like mentioned, there is no fitting in the other size tank, and if you could, there wouldn't be any room, so a custom job would most likely be too cost prohibited.

Having driven an IS & GW with guages, and std bikes, why would you want to have the added cost of a fuel gauge?

The first bike I ever had was a 91 Katana 600 and it had a fuel gauge. It wasn't particularly reliable, I still had to keep track of the trip odo. I've had a whole bunch of bikes since and none had a fuel gauge and I never missed it.

I have an interstate tank on my standard. I figured why not install a fuel gauge? so I did cooldude The Motosen fuel gauge is a nice item I just did not really care about the mounting bracket that came with it. I only check the fuel level when someone I am riding with says they need fuel, I still rely on my trip meter for the most part. The fuel gauge is just another do-da-bling-bling-thingie crazy2

For my riding, I totally disagree.  Depending on wind, and my speed, I get between 19 and 38 mpg, with a best of 40 mpg.  My IS tank on my standard now has a motosen gauge on it.  It is very accurate.

With such variance in mpg, why use trip meter?  To me, the trip meter is totally useless.  Gauge is MUCH more accurate.

Thanks for the feedback. Each to his own.

I like my gauges and the Motosens one is supposed to be accurate. May be possible to utilise another sender unit and just re-calibrate the gauge.

An interesting problem.

Nevermind, there'll be a way round it. Cool
