...try this one...best "Free" anti Ive ever found...just click download then click...Run...no need to D/L it if you dont want...it will run right from their site....you wont believe the stuff it will find on the first sweep...

http://www.superantispyware.com/portablescanner.html

~ Timbrwolf --- Have you used that site? Just wanted to check with you on it's legitimacy. The site looks a lot like a scam but I googled it and it sure appears to be legitimate. I have some acquaintances who have PCs and I get asked sometimes about virus software. Since I don't keep up with the Windows world I have to tell them that I'm not familiar. If you've used this, and it works for you, then it's something I can refer them to. And what do you consider to be the best "protection" package?  Thanks!

....Yep....and believe me...Ive been around the block with these sites that offer to "scan" your computer and find over 1,500 "problems"...you hit "Fix"...they tell ya they fixed...100 problems...and want ya to buy their software to "fix" the rest.....I use all "Free ware" for protection....I have the COMODO Fire Wall...a highly rated free fire wall....Avast Anti Virus...again...one of the best out there...and a few others....I scan my puter regularly and then I came across this SuperAntiSpyware...when I was perusing I think "Wired" magazine on line...they reviewed it...said it was one of the best "Free Wares" they ever came across and highly recommended it.....so I gave it a try...after using my regular malware scan.....first time it found a Trojan the others had missed and over 30 Tracking Cookies...a third of them were "Adware"...which is one of the most persistent that embeds itself DEEP in your hard drive....like I said...you DONT have to D/L it to use it...just click "Download"..and it will prompt you to Save or Run....click Run...it will run remotely from their site and scan your puter....may take up to an hour to complete ...depending on how much "stuff" you got saved on your Hard Drive....believe me..Im a big skeptic too....and I wouldnt recommend anything like this to anyone....if I hadnt used it first...and been impressed..

...far as a "Package"...like I said..I use COMODO for a Free Firewall....and Avast for a Free Anti-Virus...and Superantispyware about once a week just to make sure no Trojans slipped in the back door...
