Damn, I wanted to make that ride before the paving was completed. Foiled by having to make a living again I guess. No pavement is forever though. The county just graveled the formerly paved road I live on. I think they were trying for a chip & seal but wound up with 2" of chip!

Well good. The non-thought down side apparently is the increased erosion from road runoff.
Dont they spray eeevil oil on the ground prior to paving? Cold/hot/cold instant weather change is really hard on asphalt. Glad the libenvirotools feel good about themselves.
Actually I see more wrecks as the speed will increase due to "improved" conditions.

The Sierra Club sucks. They do nothing of any real value in terms of the environment. They just screw things up to make a point.

I was just up the peak mid last week, they were still paving. Looks like they did a nice job.
