I had to do the same 16y/o weenie dog.  Not a more faithful animal on the planet.  Sure leaves a vacancy I know the feeling.  But you know you did the right thing and the animal knew you had its best at heart.

July 9 Darrell.  Had to put our beloved Xena down. Massive internal bleeding at 12 years old.
Still expect to see her nose sticking out the door sometimes
when I open it.   Sad

So sorry to hear this buddy.

Sooo sorry to hear this Darryl.  That is such a hard decision to make and to do.  Its helpful to know that they are in no more pain and the suffering has ended.  We have also been in that position with more than 1 of our cherished friends. We will always miss them greatly, cuz they have given us so much unconditional love and companionship.  Condolences from Bob & I on your & Deb's loss of a family member.  Take Care!

I have had to do this several times with dogs in my life and it is not easy and it does not get any easier. You have my sympathy for you for the loss of your friend. I have always had a dog in my house and believe a litlle of the spirit of my last two is alive in the Jack Russel that currently runs the house. I find in comforting that my past dogs' spirit is still in my house, just in another form.

You have my deepest heart-filled condolences.

I'm sure she was a wonderful dog and I know she was lucky to have had you as a friend.

Sorry to hear that D.  Been there a couple of times.  Even after almost a decade or so, I still get those gnats around me.  You will meet again though.  Thanks for posting that Rainbow Bridge Roadkill.  That makes me feel better.

Sincere condolences, big d. Had to put down my almost 14-years old Golden 5 years ago. Still miss him every day, but know that you did the right thing.

thank you all. what truly made losing her was that she was my first christmas present from my wife the first year after moving into our first house together. a tiny little white fur ball that captured my heart. again thank you all

So sorry for your loss. Tough call to make but you had the guts to do right for your friend. We've lost several good buddies over the years, and although we have always brought in new family dogs, they all stay with us forever.

We have the same problem facing us. Cookie our 15yr old half cocker and half beagle is on borrowed time now. She's blind and can not hear hardly at all. She still gets arround pretty good but is on meds for leg joint pain.
I'm not a small guy and I should be able to do what needs to be done but I can't seem to do it. Denise and I are gonna make the move shortly but it'll be like losing a member of the family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and I know how you must be suffering.

If anyone keeps their old mutt "going" jsut to satisfy their personal needs it's time to man up and do what needs to be done.

None of us would like to be feeble and in pain 24 - 7 if there was an alternative.

It's kinder. Bloody well hurts but it's kinder.
