Handcuff and search me PLEASE !

Festus Mo. 40 min. south east of St.Louis

« on: October 02, 2011, 04:16:14 PM »

Took my daughter for a ride today ,always a pleasure to spend time with her. Especially on the bike. We hit a very large rat run. Then went to the world famous Fast Eddies Bon-Air Club in Alton Il. and had a great lunch. While at the rat run we wondered through the couple of thousand bikes there, Till she came across this one. Now I have met the owner Jimmy several times but this was knew to her. "Just how does he ride this thing? " she asked . He invited her to try them out. I love that little girl. Thought I would share this Photo.

I have seen the bike before at Buckhorn. They are tall.

Sorry I couldn't make it today. I put up a post of the pictures. I would of rather been there.

How does he ride that bike?

Too each their own. Maybe my arms are just too short to understand.

I have seen him riding down the road on that thing and it is a wonder that his butt was touching the seat.  Gotta give it to the guy...it is a sharp looking bike.

Isn't that the bike that Bobbo claimed could keep up with good sports bike riders at Deals Gap  Cheesy

I'm wondering how these guys get by with this? Here is a section I copied from the AMA site some time ago for a friend of mine. [Currently, 34 states and the District of Columbia have maximum handlebar height restrictions. Sixteen states have no restrictions. Of the 35 jurisdictions with restrictions, 20 have the 15-inch above the highest point on the seat rule. Another 10 generally require the handgrips on motorcycle handlebars to be below shoulder level on the rider. The other four states have different standards. There appears to have been a trend in recent years for states to move away from the 15-inch standard to either no standard or a shoulder height restriction.]  Guess it's just not enforced or states maybe dropping the rule altogether. Just curious.

Come on guys....this isn't a discussion about the legallity of ape hangers.  This is simply a post from a proud father of his daughter sitting on a motorcycle...which happens have apes.

Thanks Joe, yea I'm proud of her. But I too find this bike unusual ,I do know I've seen him release one side or the other when turning and slide his hand down the bars to help in parking lots etc. The first time I saw him enter a ralley site I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I asked "Why?" I turned and looked towards the crowded lot behind me and everyones eyes were on him. I thought then, thats why. But since then I have gotten to know him a little better I believe Jimmy just enjoys having people looking wide eyed and wondering like we are. Kinda like putting hydraulics or somthing else on a vehicle. Its odd but people enjoy it.

The bike is unusual I will give it that.  But what makes it nice is Chip's lovely daughter modeling it.  If I had a daughter I would love to have her take an interest in motorcycling like yours Chip.
