In a gradual curve yesterday evening running about 50 the rear tire felt like it slipped a little, then noticed it again in another curve.  pulled over thinking I had a flat.  Tire was ok.  When a rear wheel bearing goes out what are the symptons?   Got 66,000 miles on the bike.  Those of you who have had rear wheel bearings go out, what mileage did they go out?

My I/S had 35K miles on it when I discovered the left rear wheel bearing needed to be replaced.  I was changing tires and checked the bearings.  The left one had lateral slop so I performed the double row bearing mod and replaced both bearings so they would have the same mileage and condition.

I had mine go out when I was about 700 miles from home.  The symptoms was a growling, popping feeling/sound coming from the bike.  People following me also told me that the back tire was leaning over to one side.  Pulled the tire and the bearing almost fell apart in our hands.  Not a good thing...  We were able to get the bike back operational through the help of a fantastic dealer in Canada who only charged me for the seal (we had the bearing).
