Saturday at dawn was a brisk ride in to Charlotte. This morning it was 38 when I left the house after sunrise. Wasn't it 80 last week?

I think winter is going to be here fast this fall.

Oh well. I'll get used to it.

Today was fine in the middle when I went to lunch. It was 68 or 70. Nice. Now the sun is already retreating and taking the heat with it. I have another hour and a half before I ride home. I'm betting it will be cool.

Dad was riding down off Roan Mtn., TN Sunday morning heading for mid-NC. His bike was losing power and he didn't know why. He finally realized his hands were stiff and not squeezing well in the 36 degree temperatures and his throttle was slipping under his glove. He's not used to cold weather riding. It took him by surprise.
