I have a 2000 Interstate.  My understanding is that it has an iPod connection somewhere in the radio module.  I was looking for the plug-in but can’t find it.  Can someone let me know where this plug is?  Maybe someone has a picture that can be posted so I can see it.  Thanks you all in advance.

Yes, it is a 5 amp ckt that is best used
to trigger a relay. You should find it inside a
rubber boot.

as long as it draws 5 amps or less. it would probably be best to use it to trigger a relay that is fed thru a fuse directly off the battery.

Excuse my ignorance, but would a trigger relay be the same as an accessory hook up??  I'd like it to only be on when the key is on, etc......And if so, I'm assuming radio shack or something to get a trigger relay?  It is a small amp, the Shark for some speakers.

you should have no problem with that amp. if using it for a higher amp load, you buy a relay 30amp relay at just about any auto parts store($4-$5) the accessory wires are used to trigger the relay off and on, the relay then engages feeding up to 30amps on a second set of contacts fed by a 10Ga wire direct from the battery.

Ok, so I'm confused.....do I need a relay with that small amp??  Or, just find the accessory wire??

I see the amp has spade connectors to hook directly up to the battery.  Of course, if done that way, it will always be on...

Thanks.....

just go ahead and wire to the acc. wires. you should have no problem. worse care: you pop a fuse. but i think that thing only draws 2 amps.
