Here in GA the DOT has decided to rip drivers off by making some of the lanes of 185 into toll lanes. I85 is a major transportation route into and through metro Atlanta.

To be able to use the toll lanes one must have a Peach Pass. http://www.peachpass.com/

These are free for owners of 2 wheeled motorized vehicles.

I applied for 2, one for each of my motorcycles. After a couple of "where are they" phone calls mine arrived with clear instructions on how to position the bar coded Peach Pass on the windshield of a vehicle. Strike one.

What is to stop anyone peeling off the stick-on Peach Pass on a motorcycle? In a vehicle the Peach Pass is secure, mounted to the inside of the windshield Strike two.

I placed the "Peach Pass" for one motorcycle on the windshield of the bike. Stood back and realized it was in a perfect position for someone to peel it off. Removed it and repositioned it only to find out that the adhesive was a one touch type. No mention of this in the vehicle mounting instructions. Strike 3

We pay our taxes for these idiots to waste.

I'm still amazed at it being "free" for motorcycles.

If you attach the pass to a piece of clear plastic you can then temporarily attach the plastic and pass to the windshield with a stationary clip, not a paper clip.  That is what I have done in areas that have such passes.

Other states already have this in effect and more are planning on it as revenues from taxes are drying up.  I would have been glad to have gotten the pass for free.

I received my Peach Pass last week for my bike.

The instructions said to mount to inside of windshield, but the adhesive was on teh back side of teh sticker.

Spoke to a PeachPass person at a local festival and was told I could mount it anywhere it could be seen. So I mounted it on top of my headlight trim.

Traffic has been a "bit"  uglystupid2 heavier, but it appeared to be the usual BS of people not driving, just pointing their cars in the go further lanes, rather than actually driving to the surrounding speeds.

But doing I-75 from I285 in Marietta to downtown to i-85 north to Buforf is STILL amazingly faster than trying to go across 285

Did they add lanes to do this, or take a lane that was already there?

Are these the first GA toll roads? I've never been through one in that state. NC has been talking about toll roads for years but we haven't had one built yet.

i have an "I"pass that i keep in my front jacket pocket when ever i visit my brothers in chicago.  seems to be working, i get the bill for it!!  i've always wanted wisconsin to put in four toll boths, two for minnesota visitors, and two for illinios visitors, then maybe they could lower the fuel tax a little.

When the Ga DOT said it was free, should have been the point at which you stoodback and said WHY?

Now you know.

Here's your sign.
