Ok im getting a strange noise in the rear of the Interstate. Its a clicking noise been there off and on about a month. Seems pretty steady now and more of a double click and louder but seems timed with same spot in tire. Cant find anything stuck in the tread of the tire. Its a car tire and i dont see any wear spots on outside of tire. I dont hear it when going down the road but i think thats because of the normal noises going down the road drowns it out. Hitting the brake doesnt seem to change the noise. Anyone have a clue what it could be??

Pinion cup / Final drive splines / Left rear bearing .....One of these would get my bet and in that order  cooldude How many miles since you pulled the rear wheel and did the maintence on pinion cup / drive-shaft  / final drive ?

What they said..... except I'd put it up on the lift and try to reproduce it while spinning the wheel.

And look/listen to your brake caliper/function too.

Oh yea im sure  itll be going to Bill.   Was wondering what ill be looking at..  Also wondering if itll make it riding to bills, about 75 miles.

Sounds like a left wheel bearing, however I have never heard what a bad pinion cup sounds like, so could be that too.  Im betting on one or the other.  If you can put her up on  a lift and grab the tire at the bottom and try to move it laterally (side to side) you are looking for a TINY tic tic movement.....bad bearing

My money is on the left outer wheel bearing. Gone through two of them and your description is exactly how mine started out. It will get worse. Try left and right hand hard sweepers and rear braking to see if it intensifies. Catch it early, easy fix cooldude Best of luck to you.
