I just dont understand where that kinda thought comes from. You go walking around in Mexico without papers and forget to go home and see how fast you find yourself in jail! And we continue to kiss their @$$ like we need them or something. Anyone that says we "need" the mexican workers because food prices will go up, are ignorant to the fact that if the mexicans (and otm illegals too) left and Americans did that work and food prices went up.......we all would still be money ahead because of all the other costs and consequenses

OMG, Anvil! That video of an anvil being shot off into space must have scared you straight! What next: start watching FOX???? I'd like to hear the reasoning behind such legislation. On the surface, it makes no sense. A practically broke state throwing good money after bad. Surely, whoever dreams up or approves this sort of thing must have a viable objective, other than suicide??? I remember filipping through a paper on a flight to Florida last year and caught a small article on Georgia. Stated that there are nearly a half-million illegals in that state alone. That boggles the mind. If only half of them work, that's 200,000 jobs worked by foreign illegals. In just one little state. On the other hand, 90% of the world surrounding this comfy continent of ours is living hand to mouth, starving, desperate, not a pot to piss in...and growing. And knocking at the wall, looking to equalize things. What do you say to a human being whose child is starving to death in their arms? Sorry - can't help. My LCD TV is acting up and I need to replace it...?

My LCD TV is acting up and I need to replace it...? We have to continue to try and help underprivilaged countries IN THEIR COUNTRY (the barrier to real help is usually thier own government) but opening the flood gates to illegal immigration as a "help" is not the answer, that may help .01 % of suffering people and destroy one of the only economies that can provide the real help that is needed. Its WAY counterproductive for humanitarian help to support illegal immigration here in the US

European mentality. I was reading yesterday that Scotland charges Brits, Irish, and the Welsh for college fees but allows the European mainland to go to Scot Universities for free. WTF?

That said, my position on immigration is very conservative. But it is inspired not by hate and prejudice but by the simple underlying fact that we don't have the resources to support them. I actually feel bad for those people and sympathize with them. I don't blame them for trying to get out because that country is a SH**HOLE. But I'm not willing to sacrifice my own country for their benefit.

Just looked up some estimates - one says around 11,000,000 illegals. Eleven million. Wow. Sounds to me like a "federales" issue; not states'. Chris - agree with your points. Look at Somalia today, as just one example.

Do you REALLY want the federales invovled?? I read the article and wonder to myself W T F is he thinking?? Well maybe he is the reason they call it LALA land. The sad part is maybe i'm not as P Od as i need to be. After awhile the numbness from the sheer stupidity is like an narcotic. Not enough feeling anymore. Start eliminating politicians quickly. Those bills he signed just boggle the mind. I hope and pray those folks wake up and do something BEFORE it spreads eastward. RIDE SAFE.

Jerry Brown needs the legal Mexican votes to get re elected. That reason, and being a Democrat are his reasons for these laws.

I actually feel bad for those people and sympathize with them. I don't blame them for trying to get out because that country is a SH**HOLE. But I'm not willing to sacrifice my own country for their benefit. Exactly. When our country was formed we had plenty of room for everyone who was willing to support themselves. And, if you're not a native American then you're and immigrant, just as about 15/16 of myself is. But, we're no longer a developing country. We're full now. The tighter we pack in more people the more rules we have to have. The less energy and resources each of us can consume. The less room each of us will have. The less natural land will be left. And, ultimately the less freedom we will have. I don't like crowds and I don't like rules. We're full. We should get the illegals out and then we should base legal immigration on zero population growth. As in, if we don't have enough children to keep the population we currently have then we let in enough people to bring us back to our current level. If we have more than enough children then the borders are closed to immigration. That's simple enough everyone could understand it, just as all laws should be.

Wouldn't it be a great day if our politicians and government finally figure out that they cannot save the rest of world and start taking care of business at home?
I understand that politicians will sell their souls for a vote but last I heard, illegals cannot vote.

Dont feed the bears!! But it's ok to feed anything and everything else ? Why do the bears have to suffer alone ? Some one should share their pain because misery loves company....there are plenty of criminals to keep the bears company (of all nationalities) ! dont feed the bears OR the damn criminals either!!

I would hate to think I'm responsible for setting Anvil on the conservative path he's way too much funny to lose even to a good cause we should be upset about this too. I heard a radio interview with 'the Don' Trump. he said he has a friend that is building a factory over the border. Donald said are you crazy? why are you building there? his friend said 'they' are giving him too many tax breaks build over there. so just to be clear our government is encouraging businesses to build overseas and incentivize them with tax breaks
