Will this product work with my 03 Standard or does it need "minor modification"?

If so, what's involved?  I had it on my VTX but for some reason didn't think it would work with the Valk.  I really like the look.

Thanks.

Roll Eyes  I think major modifications are in order.... minor modifications are an understatement.

If your  you're legal here in Florida, they can't really do anything about it. To do otherwise would subjugate Fla. law and another state can't do that....legally.

I saw out of state bikes being pulled over in Sturgis for the crime of having ape hangers above shoulder height.  I don't know if tickets were issued or if the cops were using it as a probable cause to check soberity.  I know the bikers had to lower the bars before the cops released them.

The home state of the bikes was New Mexico.  As far as I know, there is not a "shoulder height" or 15" law there.  The riders were still required to comply with local law, much like how some states require helmet use even though the riders "home" state may not.

Even after my rant, I still don't think NC would make an out of state bike "remove a license frame."

That would be the same as saying I don't have to wear a helmet in your state because I am from a state that it is not required.  You have to follow the laws of that state, province, country.   They could ticket you if they want the revenue...which they do.

I have one on my VTX.  It should work with a couple shims (washers) to convert the flat plate mount to a curved frame.  I did use a flat frame on the valk of the same design.  Good luck and avoid NC.  Grin

Is it enforceable (sp?) Probably if the officer is having a bad day and you have an attitude. That being said, I don't see it happening. Been all over in NC and never been questioned about mine.  cooldude

I have one of the license plate frames that has LED's for brake lights and directionals so it's wired into the harness. What would i have to do, cut the wires and remove it to comply with another states rules!! BS!!!!  tickedoff
